Goncharov Sergey, the permanent president of the Association of Anti-Terror Veterans of the Alpha Division, with his entire biography proves that patriots cannot be prevented from loving the Motherland and serve by neither coups, nor terrorists, nor material difficulties.
Residents of Moscow know this person well; four times they elected him as a deputy to the city council. And all the other fellow citizens read with interest his fascinating books, listen to interviews. Goncharov Sergey Alekseevich experienced and saw a lot. There were ups and betrayals of the authorities, dangerous operations and many hours of intense anticipation of the order. But let's talk about everything in more detail.
Goncharov Sergey Alekseevich: biography
On August 6, 1948, a boy was born in the family of Don Cossacks in the Tarasovka farm in the Rostov Region, a future hero, fanned with glory. His parents met in Manchuria after the end of the war with Japan. Both served in the Soviet Army. After the offspring appeared, the couple went to the capital, where a son was transported a few years later.
Goncharov Sergey grew up in a large family. He had four sisters and two brothers. He spent his childhood in a communal apartment. The room was small, only 9 square meters. But they lived together. Father was often visited by colleagues. Sergei Alekseevich himself likes to recall the special atmosphere of the officer fraternity, funny feasts with songs and stories about past battles. In 1963, a young man enrolled in a car mechanics college, did not give up work. Four years later, he was drafted into the army. After serving, he returned to the factory. Soon he was invited to the Lubyanka to talk. From that moment on, his life made a sharp turn.
Group A
In all countries of the world, elite units were created at one time, which were tasked with the fight against terrorism. The USSR was considered a power safe from this point of view, but politicians could see trends in changing the situation.
Goncharov Sergey entered the service of a special unit called the Andropov Group, abbreviated “A”. This part of the special forces was directly subordinate to the head of the country. It was composed of specialists with excellent physical and moral training, the iron nervous system, selflessly devoted to their homeland. The activities of the unit, of course, are largely secret. But some facts were widely publicized. In particular, Sergey Alekseevich Goncharov himself describes past events in popular books.
Group A (later Alpha) participated in the neutralization of the terrorists. Hostages took place in the Soviet Union. The population recognized them only by rumors, all the more interesting is first-hand information.
First operation
Goncharov Sergey Alekseevich (photos are attached) served in Alpha for fifteen years. He retired in 1993 for political reasons. The first operation in which he happened to participate was an action to exchange Soviet intelligence. The country's leadership agreed with the United States to extradite two officers, in return five dissidents were released from prison. The protection of the latter was entrusted to Goncharov and his comrades. He himself recalls that the sight of the traitors (at that time) of the Motherland made an unpleasant impression on him. It was strange that these miserable squelchmen were exchanged for military officers. The operation went according to plan, without failures. The exchange took place at the airport in New York. From the US side, security was provided, as it later turned out, by at least three hundred intelligence officers.
Capture in Sarapul
The next operation involving Goncharov was directed against terrorists. Two felons captured the whole class with the teacher, blocked them in the school office and took the gun. The requirements of these people were that they be provided with unhindered travel to the United States, that is, they were provided with documents and vehicles. They neutralized them quite quickly, by the morning of the next day.
As Sergey Goncharov himself writes, the operation went as if by notes. Having received the task, the special services went to school. They were lucky. One of the boys, the terrorists at that very moment released into the restroom. The guy gave the officers a full situation. The terrorists were taken immediately, bursting into the office with a lightning throw. No one was hurt that time.
Hostages of 4 "G"
The next action of the terrorists turned out to be more thought out, therefore, difficult to neutralize. In Mineralnye Vody, a gang led by recidivist P. Yakshiyants again seized a class (4 "G") with a teacher. Thirty-two children with a teacher were on the bus. Remembering the inglorious clash with Alpha for the bandits, these terrorists placed gas cans under the seats with their children. They demanded money (two million dollars) and conditions for unhindered departure for the cordon.
Two groups were prepared for the power operation, one of them was headed by Sergey Goncharov. But this time they only had to wait almost a day. The matter was decided by negotiations. The bandits freed the children, received money and a plane to Israel. A day later, the special services of the party that received them turned to the KGB with a proposal to take the “present” back. The terrorists were returned to the USSR and tried.
Order: arrest Yeltsin
For fifteen years, the special forces had to neutralize many threats, Sergey Alekseevich Goncharov took part in many operations. Interesting facts that are no longer a state secret, he himself revealed to the public in an interview and a book.
But the most tragic can be considered an unguarded operation to arrest Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin. This story shows the heroism of ordinary soldiers and the betrayal of the leadership of that country, which is no longer there. In August 1991, the Alpha group was at the center of the political struggle. They were instructed to settle down near the village of Arkhangelsk and wait for directions. In this village was Yeltsin. The wait continued until the morning. Awakened villagers noticed strange soldiers hiding in the forest. Information has reached the “development object”. But the capture was never succeeded. None of the leaders of the State Emergency Committee had the strength of mind to issue an order. And this led to the collapse of the USSR.
Hot Autumn 1993
There was a moment in the history of Alpha when I had to choose between an oath of duty and responsibility to people. This is an order to storm the White House in 1991. A lot of people gathered around the government building. The operation could lead to huge casualties. The soldiers of the unit refused to obey the order, they were not ready to fight with ordinary citizens.
And in 1993, Alpha was once again at the forefront of big politics. The soldiers were ordered to arrest the instigators of the riot - Rutsky and Khasbulatov. The parliament building was on fire, and there were people there. Instead of using weapons, the leadership of the group entered into negotiations with the Supreme Council. Result: saved lives. And Goncharov Sergey Alekseevich (deputy at that time) received a grateful response by chance, during a meeting with voters.
Fidelity to the people
As Sergey Goncharov himself writes, a middle-aged lady came up to him. She asked whether his subordinates were withdrawing people from the White House in '93. Having received an affirmative answer, the woman scattered in gratitude, telling an amazing story. Her eighteen-year-old son was among the rebels. The Alfovets who caught him, took the pistol from the "boy" and "gave a kick in the ass." He also warned: "Run home, to mom!"
But with armed people at that moment they didn’t go astray, they shot to kill. So the special forces soldier saved the mother’s son, who succumbed to a youthful impulse and fell into a serious history. Perhaps this is the best confirmation of the correctness of the officers who chose the debt to the people and the Fatherland, and not the order of corrupt and cowardly politicians. Further events in the country only emphasize this again.
