Despite the fact that mankind has recently become more responsible and careful in treating nature, trying to preserve it with all its might, the next extinct animal species periodically appears. Often people are guilty of this. Many mistakenly believe that only dinosaurs became extinct, but in the last millennium in history, humanity has parted with some representatives of the fauna forever.

The recently extinct animal species is Alaotran grebe. These birds resembled wild ducks quite strongly. They lived near the island of Madagascar, near Lake Alaotra. Thanks to him, they got their name. Their disappearance is a classic mistake of mankind, since the fight against poaching did not begin at full speed, when these birds were already on the verge of extinction. In addition, during the development of new lands by humans, the local fish, which formed the basis of the feeding of grebes, began to leave the habitat. And in 2010, the last contact with this bird was recorded. She never caught the eye again, which gives reason to say that she died out.

Perhaps the only extinct animal species, which itself is guilty of its inability to further existence, is a steller or, as it is also called, a sea cow. The fact is that they are completely defenseless, and the only thing that could scare away predators from them is a lot of weight and size. In length, they reached eight meters, and the mass of an adult was approximately three tons. Their passivity and complete apathy could well lead to extinction, even if a person tried to maintain this species. It is worth noting that fishermen off the shores of the Arctic Ocean manage to see creatures very similar to steller, but there is no evidence of this. It is believed that the sea cow died out in 1768.

The most famous extinct animal species is the primitive bull tours. Their fame is due to the fact that these large animals were hunted by noble people, representatives of the aristocracy. Initially, tours appeared in India, then spread to Central Asia and only then migrated to Europe. It is worth paying attention to the fact that they began to take care of the conservation of this species for a long time, back in the 13th century. However, the effort was not enough, and the last female of the tour died in Poland in 1627.

The good news is that endangered species of animals in Russia are strictly protected. Zoologists and representatives of environmental protection societies make every effort to ensure that rare species of animals can live and breed in different nature reserves. And those animals that cannot be kept in free conditions are settled in zoos, where they contribute in every way to the continuation of the genus.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the only way to see extinct species of animals is photos, drawings, or filming preserved in the archives. If you take a list of those animals with which humanity will never be able to meet again, then you can be horrified by its size. That is why today we should take a more responsible approach to preserving the remaining animals, because tomorrow everything may be on the verge of extinction.
