Description

In the modern era, the Russian people are going through a special process - inclusion in the international musical space. This is most clearly manifested in the fact that not only the older generations, but also young people, children, and middle-aged people began to attend classical music concerts. As well as a huge number of musically gifted children who, at a young age, not only play, but also compose music, take part in international competitions, performing with experienced musicians on the same stage.

The Moscow Philharmonic Society, as well as the Conservatory, as prominent representatives and accomplices of this process, currently play a huge role, performing such a noble task as introducing the masses to high world culture, and also contribute to the development and discovery of young talents - the future of the country and the world.

It belongs to the group of large music halls for concerts in the Russian Federation. It is also the main concert space for the Moscow Philharmonic.

Every year, about 3 hundred concerts are held in the walls of the Tchaikovsky Hall, which are attended by about 350 thousand spectators. The total capacity of the space is 1.5 thousand people.

It hosts concerts of symphonic and organ music, academic and jazz, as well as festivals, concerts and performances.

History

The concert hall is located on the site of the former theaters - "Buff Miniatures", "Zones", the Vsevolod Meyerhold Guest Theater - which were very popular at the very beginning of the last century. Nearby stood the famous Nikitin Circus and the capital's cinema.

In the 30s, Vsevolod Meyerhold decided to reconstruct the building (his theater had moved to a different room by that time), for which a project was made and even construction work was carried out (foundation, walls, roof). But the unexpected happened: the organizer of this venture was arrested and shot, and the building was handed over to the Moscow Philharmonic to complete the work and equipment in the walls of the concert hall.

And in 1940, when the reconstruction of the premises (to reduce the construction), the internal and external wall decoration were successfully completed, the Tchaikovsky Hall was opened.

An organ was placed here, famous for the fact that the composer himself played it in the 19th century - in the Cathedral of Peter and Paul, in St. Petersburg.

Opening

On this solemn October day, a gala concert was held within the walls of the musical space, which was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Sounded works of the composer.

In the difficult period of the war, the Tchaikovsky Hall worked anyway - about 4 concerts took place over 4 years. In the post-war years, music festivals and cultural events took place here.

Modernity

In the XXI century, the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow becomes the main one for the Moscow Philharmonic. After some reconstruction (as a result of which the building was partially restored to its original, aristocratic appearance) and the replacement of individual elements (scenes and armchairs), a technical opportunity appeared to stage operas.

All the best musical performances, productions, anniversary evenings are currently held within the walls of the famous hall.

His poster is replete with a variety of multi-genre concerts, and the concerts themselves - with sophistication, energy and vividness of performances, the audience - with a variety of ages.
