Childhood Konstantin

Little Kostya was born on 05/02/1969 in an small village in the Vinnitsa region in an intelligent family. Konstantin's parents were teachers. When the child was 8 months old, the family moved to Kazakhstan, where Kost Bondarenko began school. Parents paid great attention to the education of their son, his mother taught him to read and write before entering 1st grade.

At the age of 8, Kost Bondarenko returned with his family to Ukraine in the Cherkasy region. Parents received a house in with. Palanka Uman district and identified Kostya in a local school.

Education and military service

In 1986, Kost Bondarenko went to Chernivtsi, submitted documents to the local state university named after Y. Fedkovich. Having successfully passed the exams, Bondarenko was enrolled in the Faculty of History. Having studied at the university for only a year, Kost was forced to interrupt his education in connection with the draft in the army. The young soldier served in the Turkestan military district, where Kost Bondarenko learned the basics of strategic aviation.

After being demobilized from the army in 1990, Kost decided to move to Lviv. He transferred to Ivan Franko State University. In 1994, Kost Bondarenko successfully graduated from the History Department of Leningrad State University. I. Franco majoring in the History of International Relations.

Life in historical Lviv required considerable financial expenses. Therefore, the student Bondarenko skillfully combined his studies at the university and work. While working on his Ph.D. thesis, Konstantin Bondarenko worked in the archives of not only the Ukrainian cities of Lviv and Kiev. In 1997, Konstantin successfully defended his dissertation, became a candidate of historical sciences, after which he was invited to work at the Lviv Polytechnic University.

Student activity and first arrest

Even after returning from the army, Kostya took up social and political activities in Chernivtsi. He joined the People’s Movement of Ukraine. Then he became a member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union.

Over the year, Kost Bondarenko managed to become an active member of the Ukrainian Student Union, and soon entered the presidium of the Ukrainian Youth Union in Bukovina. He actively participated in rallies and student demonstrations. For participation in one of such meetings in October 1989, activists were arrested by the Chernivtsi police, which was a turning point in the biography of Kostya Bondarenko and his mind.

This event caused a wave of student protests. Komsomol organization together with the leadership of the University. Y. Fedkovich initiated the first student strike in the USSR, which lasted 3 days. As a result, Kost Bondarenko and other activists were released from custody.

Political activity

In Lviv, Kost Bondarenko continued to occupy an active public position. He combined work at the Polytechnic with scientific work and participation in socio-political organizations. Bondarenko stood at the origins of the Nova Khvilya Center for Political Studies in Lviv. In a fairly short period of time, the political scientist changed many parties, participated in various political projects and movements.

From 1997 to 1999 he was the head of the analytical department of the Lviv regional organization of the NDP. From 1999 to 2001, he held a similar position in the Reforms and Order party. Over the years, he was a member of the Lytvyn bloc, the Pora civil movement; Public Councils under the President, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In October 2002, Konstantin Bondarenko was appointed director of the Expert Center, which was engaged in the study of social processes.

In 2002, he was a consultant to the Viktor Yushchenko bloc in the elections. And after 2 years in the presidential race he supported E. Prutnik and Z. Kulik.

Until 2005, Kost headed the Institute of National Strategy.

In 2006-2007, the political scientist served as adviser to the Ministry.

In March 2008, he received the position of freelance adviser Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

In 2010-2011, he continued his political career as deputy S. Tigipko, which he left due to his disagreement to unite with the Party of Regions.

In 2011, Kost Bondarenko headed the Institute of Ukrainian Politics.
