Sochi is a Russian resort city with a rich and interesting history. In the modern fashionable southern city, there are less and less buildings and other objects reminiscent of those glorious times when Sochi was an all-Union health resort for residents of the entire USSR. Now the city sparkles with glass and metal, the bizarre architecture of expensive hotels and nightclubs. But there were still places in Sochi where heart filled with nostalgia for bygone times and fond memories. So you feel in the park named after Frunze, which is not far from the embankment.

Theater History: Part 2, Sad

After perestroika, many objects of culture and art became useless to anyone and fell into absolute decline. The photos of the Sochi Summer Theater of those times have survived, when it is clear that the theater is plundered, disfigured by vandals and more closely resembles a haven of marginal personalities.

In 2001, businessman Frolenkov tried to restore the theater building and restore its former glory. It was then that a multi-tiered fountain appeared in front of the theater, which still operates today. But for some reason he was not able to complete what he started. For several years, the Sochi Summer Theater was moving from one investor to another. Changed the concept of its reconstruction, operation plans. There was even a threat of demolition of this historic building.

But in the end, the rights to the reconstruction were transferred to the company Buenas Kubanas, which carried out work to restore the legendary concert venue. An auditorium with 800 seats was rebuilt, a powerful heating and ventilation system was carried out. In fact, the Sochi Summer Theater has become a year-round concert venue. New seats were installed, a modern speaker system appeared.

Also in the theater opened a restaurant. In 2013, the new stage of the old theater hosted the first artists - the Cabaret Kurban of the famous Santiago Alfonso. In fact, since its second birth, the Summer Theater has turned into a cabaret with vivid musical performances and the delights of a local restaurant.

Not all locals share a new image of their favorite theater. But many are glad that he just survived and continues to live, which means that the history of the Summer Theater in Sochi continues.
