Once Mikhail Antonov correctly noted: “Journalists are not born, they become.” This phrase is perfect for his own biography. After all, being quite young, he could not even imagine that in the future he would become one of the most famous news television presenters in Russia.

Mikhail Antonov: a biography of the early years

Mikhail Nikolaevich Antonov was born in Moscow on April 11, 1972. His mother worked as an engineer, and his father served in intelligence. As a child, Mikhail often boasted of his father's profession, since for the Soviet children the military were akin to superheroes. Father has always been an example for a boy, and even today, a journalist tries to adhere to the same moral principles as his idol.

As for Mikhail Antonov himself, he was very gifted in the humanities. True, the exact discipline was very difficult for him, and therefore the gold medal was clearly not shining for him. But the young man saw the future profession quite clearly - he wanted to become a historian. However, all attempts to enter the Faculty of History were a failure for Antonov. And all that was left for him was to join the army.

Accident or fate?

After demobilization, Mikhail Antonov seriously considered his future. At first, he wanted to try again to enter the historian, but his friends talked him out of it. As it turned out, in those years this profession was not in great demand, and therefore could not bring a good income. The same people advised Antonov to enter Moscow State University, justifying this with the fact that journalism is now gaining rapid momentum.

As a result, in 1993, Mikhail Antonov still entered the journalism department of Moscow State University. Subsequently, he not only mastered the new profession, but also with all his heart fell in love with it. Moreover, as Antonov himself says, he was very lucky with the teachers. In particular, Anna Kachkaeva, a well-known journalist of Radio Liberty, became his main inspirer.
