Talking about Mercedes models, one cannot help but pay attention to the S-class. “Sonderklasse” - that’s what word the letter designation came from. And it translates as a “special” class. The first representative of this segment appeared in 1972. The first model became known as the W116. And, I must say, it became popular, which marked the beginning of the active production of new machines.
S-class is considered one of the best. And the quality is really worthy. Needless to say, even the first model had a V8 engine under the hood, which generated 200 horsepower! But at that time, AMG was a simple office for two fellow engineers who themselves tuned the Mercedes. However, success came to them quite quickly, and today everyone knows that the AMG mark means that a person is faced with a powerful, fast, impressive car.
