Every person who is interested in the topic of astronautics and living in the city of Kirov or its environs must definitely visit the museum of K. E. Tsiolkovsky aviation and astronautics. This is a really interesting place where children and adults can learn more about the biographies of the Kirov residents who have contributed to the development of Russian astronautics.

Where is he located

This area is generally very rich in monuments - within a radius of several hundred meters are the Museum of the Vyatka Samovar, the Regional Museum of the History of Public Education, as well as the Museum of the History of Chocolate. So every visitor to the city who loves visiting museums should definitely visit this area and see those exhibitions that are of most interest to him.

House with an interesting history

The house in which the national Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics of the city of Kirov is located has a surprisingly interesting, eventful history.

It was built almost two centuries ago - in the distant 1858. The owner was a merchant Shuravin, but the house was rented out, so different people lived here, including the family of Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky - from 1873 to 1878.

Many years later, already in Soviet times, the Tukharinov family also lived here. Yuri Tukharinov - Colonel General, who led the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan. He also became famous for the construction of many military facilities in Central Asia.

In Soviet times, the house was rebuilt several times - in 1960 and 1980. As a result, the interior and layout were significantly redone.

In 1968, the first memorial tablet appeared on the facade - in memory of Tsiolkovsky. The second tablet, dedicated to Colonel General Tukharinov, was fixed on the facade relatively recently, in 2007.

The Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics opened its doors to visitors in 1988. The opening ceremony was attended by V.P. Savinykh - a native of Kirov, an astronaut and twice Hero of the Soviet Union, A.A. Serebrov - an astronaut and Hero of the Soviet Union, as well as the granddaughter of K. E. Tsiolkovsky and his great-grandchildren.

Hall of memory Tsiolkovsky

An important part of the museum’s composition is precisely this exposition. Studying it, you can see the numerous objects that were used by the inhabitants of the house at a time when the family of the great theoretical scientist lived here, paving the way for humanity to space.

In addition, there are stored physical devices that were used by scientists of the late nineteenth - early twentieth centuries during their research. It is simply amazing how with the help of such primitive tools they made the greatest discoveries that forever changed the world.

Exhibition of V.P. Savin

Of no less interest to visitors is another exhibit, which the Kirov Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics boasts.

It is dedicated to cosmonaut Viktor Petrovich Savin. He is the hundredth astronaut taking off from the surface of planet Earth. He was also twice awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, received the title of honorary citizen of Kirov and the Kirov region.

The exhibition contains a large number of personal items of the astronaut, by which one can judge his life path, thoughts, aspirations, character. There is also a large amount of equipment used by astronauts in daily work: tools, materials, instructions.

Therefore, visiting the exposition will allow everyone interested in space exploration to come close to the secrets of the universe.

Museum branch

Perhaps, for young visitors, a visit to the Children's Space Center, also located in Kirov, is even more interesting.

It opened recently - March 12, 2018. And the exhibition halls will for a long time attract the attention of both children and adults who have not lost their curiosity with age.

For example, the manned space hall will show visitors many samples of equipment and instruments that are currently used on the ISS. Here are personal items of astronauts transferred by them to the museum fund. Layouts of satellites and special devices will interest any fans of the theme of space.

You can also see here unusual hygiene products used by workers on Earth orbit, and even a real space suit "Orlan", which is used when entering outer space.

Very interesting interactive room. Numerous exhibits in a playful, accessible form show how certain natural phenomena act, how the usual physical laws change under conditions of weightlessness and deep space. Anyone can create a small cloud, generate electrical energy or even start a small tornado!

Experienced guides will demonstrate to visitors of all ages what the equatorial arc is, how the black hole works, why the seasons, day and night change.

At the exit, hungry visitors can eat real space food! A special machine is installed here, where you can buy tubes of food - exactly the same as the astronauts in orbit on the Earth! Pickle, borsch, kharcho, a variety of main dishes and even desserts like cottage cheese with berries. Feel like a real space explorer!
