A US researcher discovered plastic waste, plunging to the most record depth in history.

Victor Veskovo visited the Mariana Trench of the Pacific Ocean. He went down almost eleven kilometers. Here, the man spent several hours inspecting the bottom in his specially designed underwater vehicle, capable of diving long distances.

The aforementioned study of the deepest points of each ocean is part of the “5 Depths” expedition, organized by Veskovo, a private investor.

His last task will be to reach the bottom of the Depth of Malloy. The expedition is currently scheduled for August 2019.

What was found in the Mariana Trench?

The Veskovo team believes that four new species of crustaceans that look similar to shrimp, which are also called amphipods, have been discovered. They saw a creature called ehiurida and sea slugs at a depth of 7 and 8 km.

The Veskovo team also found striking outcrops of rocks, possibly created by microbes. They collected these samples for further study.
