Olga Timofeeva is primarily a well-known journalist, and only then a politician. Her career is a prime example of how determination can lead to the pinnacle of fame. So how was she able to reach such heights? What exactly is her secret to success? And why doesn’t anyone know anything about her personal life?
Olga Timofeeva: the beginning of the path
The future journalist was born on August 19, 1977 in the city of Stavropol. It should be noted that even in childhood Olga was a very inquisitive child and with genuine desire studied everything new. A similar craving for knowledge helped Timofeeva to graduate from school with a gold medal, which was her first great achievement.
Then, in 1994, Olga entered Stavropol State University at the Faculty of Law. But one higher education was not enough for her, and so she decided to get one more. For this, in 2000 the girl entered the Stavropol Agricultural Academy, and chose “finance and credit” as the main direction.
She received another higher education (management) at the Moscow Aviation Institute (State Technical University) in 2004. It should be noted that Olga Timofeeva gets here thanks to the Presidential program of managerial personnel.
Journalist career
Olga began to learn the profession of a journalist along the way with her studies at the university. To be more precise, in 1995 she first opened the doors of the local ATV television company (today it is the REN Stavropol TV channel). It was here that Olga Timofeeva mastered all the basics of the journalistic profession.
Thanks to her determination and perseverance, she has gone from being a simple TV reporter to a producer of programs. In addition, she personally conducted some television shows, so they began to recognize her on the streets of her native city. Then Olga still did not know that such popularity could help her in future elections, but first things first.
Timofeeva quickly gets used to the work of a journalist, and more importantly, she likes her. That is why she decides to improve her skills and, in parallel with her studies at the academy, takes journalism courses at Internews.
Such zeal leads to the fact that in 2007 Timofeeva became the laureate of the prestigious All-Russian contest "TEFI region". After that, many doors open for her, including membership in the Union of Journalists of Russia. And three years later, in 2010 she was taken to the All-Russian Academy of Television, where she periodically gives lectures for young professionals.

Over the years, Olga catches herself with the thought that it’s not enough for her to film what is happening around her - she wants to participate in all this. Therefore, in 2008, running for deputies in the Stavropol City Council. And thanks to its popularity, it easily breaks into the lead.
In March 2011, Timofeeva again stands for this post, and the people support her. Such a love of voters is justified, because in the previous term Olga Timofeeva managed to establish herself as a good politician. In particular, she fought for an increase in the budget for state institutions, and also fought against the illegal seizure of urban territory for real estate.
And on May 22, 2012 Olga Timofeeva became a deputy of the State Duma. After which she is appointed one of the members of the State Duma committee on information policy, information technology and communications.
