The control and supervision of the implementation of sentences in the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation is the responsibility of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN). She has her own seal, uniform, basic and special titles. Each employee receives FSIN epaulets in accordance with his rank and position in the system. They are subject to a number of requirements, including regarding the position of stars, emblems and other elements.
Shoulder straps of the FSIN
Each employee of the penitentiary service is required to wear uniforms with uniforms corresponding to his special rank. A certain ranking is characteristic of both the army, the police, and the FSIN service. In general, the location of the FSIN epaulettes is pretty standard.
Ordinary employees do not have special distinctive elements. For the rest, characteristic signs of distinction are stars and ticks, the number of gaps and their location, as well as the size of the stars (the highest ranks in the FSIN system have large stars on shoulder straps and small stars on the others).
Features epaulette
FSIN epaulets can be everyday or for ceremonial wearing, as well as plastic and sewn. The distance between the stars and their color scheme are slightly different from ordinary ones. Depending on the affiliation of a particular employee, different requirements are set for shoulder straps:
- For the uniform of the ordinary as well as the commanding structure (from the youngest to the highest), the width for all types and varieties of shoulder straps is 5 cm with a gap width of 30 mm and a edging width of 25 mm. This applies to shoulder straps with a drawn edge, as well as those in which the upper edge is rounded.
- For the uniform of the higher authorities of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation removable epaulettes with a width of 4.5 cm may be provided, in which there is no edging and the upper edge is rounded.
- Cadets of this structure wear FSIN epaulets, the distance of which is as follows: the width is 5 cm, of which 25 mm per edge, and 50 mm for golden stripes running in the longitudinal direction.
- For employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service, with the exception of the higher authorities of the structure, wearing shoulder straps is possible, in which the upper edge has a triangular shape, their width is 4.5 cm.
Logo position
On shoulder straps of the FSIN, the emblem is necessarily located directly on their axis, moving away from the button by a distance of 5 mm. This is stated in the relevant documents and guidelines.
In another embodiment, the emblem can be worn in the region of the collar, and its vertical axis, necessarily has a strictly parallel position relative to the departure of the collar.
Shoulder straps for senior officials in the FSIN system
Representatives of the highest authorities in the penal system must wear uniforms that meet all the basic requirements:
- As part of formal attire on a tunic, sewn-in items made of a special golden material, they differ in a speckled edge from other types. Shoulder straps of the FSIN, the distance between the stars and other elements must be strictly observed both on a daily basis and on the front.
- As part of the everyday uniform on the tunic, as well as on outerwear, including on the coat, sewn-in items, in which a separate field of material with a blue-gray weave is highlighted, the edges on them are painted in maroon color.
- For woolen jumpers, as well as insulated and woolen jackets, appropriate products for the FSIN are of a removable type, on which a field of blue-gray material is provided, having an edge painted in maroon color.
- For white and gray shirts of employees, special removable products are provided, on which the field can be made of shirts or traditional material, they also have golden embroidery, and they also have a traditional maroon edge.
- For camouflage jackets, special products of a removable type are provided, on which the field is made of gray-blue material, in principle there is no edge selection on them.
According to these characteristic features, epaulettes can be recognized by representatives of the highest authorities in the penal system. The distance of the stars on the FSIN epaulettes and their number, as in all power structures, reflect the title of their carrier.
Shoulder straps for middle ranks and junior employees in the FSIN system
The requirements for epaulettes of representatives of middle ranks and junior employees in the penal system are as follows:
- For ceremonial uniforms, there are products of the sewn-in type, on which there is a field of golden galloon, both the edging and the gaps on them are speckled.
- For everyday clothes and tunics, as well as coats, sewn-in items are proposed, where the galoon field has a characteristic blue-gray color, edges and gaps on them are painted in maroon color.
- For insulated and woolen jackets, a variety of removable products has been developed, where a field of blue-gray galun is applied, speckled staining for edging and gaps.
- For uniform shirts, regardless of their color, removable-type products have been developed where the field can be made of shirts or galun of the corresponding color, piping and gaps on them are also speckled.
- For woolen sweaters and camouflage jackets, removable shoulder straps are required, they are made from materials similar to the outer part of the garment itself.
Shoulder straps of junior and ordinary commanding staff of the FSIN
For these categories of employees, special requirements for shoulder straps have been developed, on which braids or small stars are attached, depending on the form:
- for winter coats, as well as tunics and dress uniforms, everyday uniforms, epaulettes of a sewn-in type with a blue-gray galloon on top are required, their edging has a maroon coloring;
- for insulated jackets, shoulder straps of a removable type are supposed, where the edging has traditional speckled staining, and the field has a blue-gray color;
- for shirts, regardless of their color, shoulder straps of a removable type are required, the field of which will have the corresponding gray or white coloration, made of shirts or galun, and also have a speckled edging;
- For woolen sweaters and camouflage jackets, removable shoulder straps are developed that are sewn from the same material as the garment.
FSIN cadets
Separate requirements are also stipulated for epaulettes of cadets in the penal system, which are trained in the relevant educational institutions. The following rules apply to them:
- for an insulated jacket, shoulder straps of a removable type with a blue-gray galloon are needed, where there is a speckled edging and longitudinal gold stripes;
- for a tunic, sewn on epaulettes with a speckled edging are required, along which gold longitudinal strips run against a gray field;
- removable type epaulettes with crap edging and longitudinal gold stripes have been developed for gray shirts;
- For woolen sweaters and camouflage jackets, fabric epaulets are provided that are sewn from the same material as the garment itself.
Types and arrangement of stars
Depending on the assigned rank, the following plates (strips) or stars on the uniform of the FSIN are used:
- at the highest ranks, one can see on the shoulder straps with a golden field the corresponding stars with a speckled edge;
- its size for senior management, if it is an embroidered type is 22 mm;
- the size of her senior metal manual is 20 mm;
- its size in the middle composition is 13 mm;
- the sergeant's plate size is 20 mm wide;
- the size of a similar strip of sergeant is 10 mm.
It is important to note that these strips, for example for sergeant FSIN, can have a black color (for masking jackets) or a golden color.
Star location
Among the basic requirements, there is not only a certain set of elements on the FSIN epaulets, but also the distance between stars and plates relative to each other and the shoulder strap.
All types of products in the FSIN have the following distance between the stars:
- employees with the rank of colonel-general have 3 stars each, and they are located strictly along the axis;
- employees with the rank of lieutenant general have 2 stars, located strictly on the axis;
- employees with the rank of major general have 1 star each; it is also located on the longitudinal axis;
- employees with the rank of colonel have a total of 3 stars: one of them is on the center line, the other two are in the middle between the edging and the center line, symmetrically;
- employees with the rank of lieutenant colonel have 2 stars, each of which is located in the middle of the field between the edging and the axis, symmetrically to each other;
- for employees with the rank of major - 1 star, strictly on the center line;
- 4 stars are provided for the captain: two of them are located on the sides relative to the longitudinal axis, two more are strictly on the center line;
- the senior lieutenant can be recognized by three stars: 2 of them are located on the sides of the center line, the third lies on it;
- shoulder straps of the FSIN lieutenant look like this: 2 stars on each shoulder strap, they are located on both sides of the center line;
- the junior lieutenant has one star, lies on the longitudinal axis of the epaulette.
