Biography

He is a native of the village of Pochet, located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This year, politics will turn 61 years old. Student years

Perseverance and determination helped the future deputy to successfully pass exams for the legal department of Kiev University. Of course, fate was not always supportive of politics. However, Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk, whose biography had “dark” spots, tried to endure her blows steadily. When he was a student, he was accused of causing bodily harm to a minor. However, it later turned out that the verdict was passed unlawfully, since the corpus delicti itself was missing.

One way or another, but the above circumstance did not prevent Viktor Vladimirovich from obtaining a law degree and engaging in law practice.

In the early 90s of the last century, he became the head of the Ukrainian Union of Lawyers and created the BIM International Law Firm.

Conquest of the political Olympus

In 1997, Medvedchuk was already the chosen one. A year later, he is appointed assistant chairman of the Ukrainian parliament. From this moment, Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk, whose photo regularly appears in the press, becomes a public person.

At the beginning of 2000, the politician began to support the idea of ​​holding a “velvet revolution” in the Verkhovna Rada. Such political views allowed him to achieve the position of first vice speaker. However, in his new capacity, Viktor Vladimirovich worked only a year and a half, after which he lost his post. Political scientists considered this a form of revenge for pushing amendments to the Land Code.

In 2002, one of the Ukrainian journalists, Dmitry Ponamarchuk, made public the information contained in the audio materials, namely: the head of the Our Ukraine faction Viktor Yushchenko and the capital’s mayor Alexander Omelchenko discussed the details of Viktor Medvedchuk’s resignation as vice speaker. One way or another, but the head of the SDPU (o) party in the parliamentary elections in 2002 secured the support of 6.2% of voters.

In the same year, the famous politician Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk became the head of the presidential administration. However, rumors soon spread that in the new status he could not hold out for long, but he was not destined to make excuses.

When Medvedchuk was asked why he had so many political opponents, he replied: “I just work a lot, setting ambitious goals and objectives.”

However, the time came when Leonid Kuchma had to give up the presidency to a successor, and Medvedchuk also lost his post.

In 2007, Viktor Vladimirovich dismissed the post of head of the SDPU (o) faction. Then, according to the rating of one of the Focus 200 magazines, Medvedchuk was in 48th place in the list of the most influential people in Ukraine.

Already in the spring of next year, the head of the SPU, Alexander Moroz, announced that Viktor Vladimirovich could take one of the posts in the Administration of the head of the Russian state. However, subsequently this information did not find its confirmation.

In 2008, Viktor Yushchenko announced that Medvedchuk, together with Tymoshenko’s supporters, was working on a draft new Basic Law of the country.

Not a foodie

As Viktor Vladimirovich admits, he is not a big hunter for exotic dishes, choosing the usual food, such as eggs with lard or fried potatoes with sausages.

“I often buy sausage, which tastes like the former Odessa. A piece of loaf and sausage is my usual meal, which reminds me of my youth, ”the politician says.

At the same time, once representatives of the political elite of Ukraine noticed that Medvedchuk dramatically lost weight. The difference between the figure before and after was so noticeable that the media began to write that Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk was ill with cancer. What really happened? Everything is very simple. The deputy simply decided to lose those extra pounds by sitting on a diet and taking daily runs.
