Katarzyna Figura is one of the few stars of Polish cinema that has become famous outside the country. Her name is familiar to lovers of films from the 90s, the actress is known and loved by fans of the works of prominent Polish directors, and in their homeland they consider Katarzyna to be “their Marilyn Monroe”. A brief biography, creative path and personal life of Katarzyna Figures later in this article.

early years

Katarzyna The figure was born on March 22, 1962 in a simple Warsaw family. Her father worked as a veterinarian, and her mother as an economist. Katarzyna did not have any brothers or sisters.

Since the girl’s parents were constantly busy with work, she often had to have fun alone: at home she dressed up and reincarnated in different images - this was the origin of Katarzyna’s love for acting. At 10 years old, the girl began to attend school drama club, and already at 11 she played a small children's role in the film "The Lost Dog". At the age of 15, the girl starred in the film “The Mouse” - both roles were tiny, the name of the Figure was not indicated in the credits, but after the shooting Katarzyna firmly decided to connect her life with cinema.

The real debut of the actress took place in 1983, in his second year at the Warsaw Theater Academy. She played the role of Laura Rajevic in the film "Destination" and was spotted by prominent Polish directors.

"Polish Marilyn Monroe"

Katarzyna performed her first supporting role in 1986 in the sci-fi film of Peter Shulkin "Ha, ha. Glory to the heroes". This was followed by the main roles in the paintings “Ring and Rose” by Jerzy Gruz (1986) and “Train to Hollywood” by Radoslaw Pivovarski (1987), after which Marilyn Monroe, the whole country, was proclaimed by the Olga as an actress for her ability to combine sexuality and innocence in her images. International success also came to the Figure in 1987, when the 25-year-old actress appeared in the film by the outstanding Polish director Julius Mihulsky. It was a grotesquely satirical picture "Kingsize", and the young star played the main female role.

The success of Mikhulsky’s film at international festivals opened Figure to the door to Europe: in 1988, she starred in the Czechoslovak film “Heaven”, and in 1990 in the French “Embassy in Madness”. At the same time, the actress received a musical education at the Paris Conservatory of Dramatic Art. A new milestone in international creativity was the role in the Italian film "Tornado" and in the Franco-British "Voices in the Garden", filmed in 1992. After that, Katarzyna firmly decided - it was time to conquer Hollywood.

Kasia Figure

Under the pseudonym "Kasia Figura", the actress made her debut in the 1992 Robert Altman American film "The Player". The figure played a minor role, its partners on the set were stars such as Whoopi Goldberg, Tim Robbins and Sidney Pollack.

The next American film in the filmography of Katarzyna Figures was the famous film "High Fashion" in 1994, directed again by Robert Altman. The role was small, but the Figure had the opportunity to work with stars of the first magnitude, among which Marcello Mastroiani, Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall, Julia Roberts, Cher and many others.

Kasia Figure performed her main role in Hollywood in 1996, in the film "Fast and Young" by Tim Everitt. Unfortunately, the film went unnoticed. The actress decided to return to her homeland. Having not received recognition, Katarzyna still learned something in Hollywood, and in Poland, one after another, she began to receive awards and nominations for her film works, for example, for her role in the film "Ailawu" (1999).

In 2002, the figure was lucky to play a small role as the main character's neighbor in the film "The Pianist" by the famous compatriot Roman Polanski. The film was the last work of the actress outside of Poland, where she is actively removed to this day. For example, in 2019, the film “Diablo” with her participation has already been released, now the film “Once, Once Again” is being shot, the premiere of which is planned in Warsaw at the end of 2019.

Even at the beginning of the two thousandths for one of the roles, the Figure shaved baldly, thereby completing the period of sexual images and currently choosing exclusively multifaceted and dramatic roles for himself.
