At the same time, he placed particular hopes on influential fellow countrymen living abroad.

The same man again managed to occupy the most influential post in power.

The organizer of the protests was a deputy of the National Assembly, a journalist and a member of the political block "Elk" Nikol Pashinyan.

Against the background of protracted rallies and protests, Sargsyan addressed the nation in which he regretted the opposition’s reluctance to engage in dialogue with acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. He also announced the start of negotiations with extra-parliamentary forces and deputies.

As a result, Serzh Sargsyan was forced to resign as prime minister. At the same time, he tried to maintain political influence, remaining the leader of the Republican Party of Armenia.
