Australia is the most mysterious country in the world. Not only does it occupy the territory of the entire continent, but it also does not have its own control apparatus. The head of Australia is the Queen of Great Britain. According to some versions, it is believed that this particular territory was the last open mainland. Australia's animals and plants are of great scientific interest to scientists around the world.

A long time ago, the mainland separated from all the land of the earth and thanks to this has preserved a unique natural diversity. Rare plants in Australia make up 75% of the total flora. Most endemic plants are eucalyptus and acacia popular on the mainland. However, representatives imported from other parts of the world — the southern beech — grow on the mainland.

For the most part, Australian plants are dry-loving, which can be explained by the dry and hot climate of the country. Succulent shrubs, common in the southern part of the mainland, are a frequent representative of the flora of the area. These rather small and far from fragile plants also have a powerful root system, sometimes extending their tentacles 30 meters deep into the soil, "sucking" all the moisture out of it. Thanks to this feature, these plants are able to survive even in the most arid conditions. One of the representatives of succulents is prickly pear - a guest from America, who has taken root in the territory of the mainland.

Plants in Australia appear before the eyes of an inexperienced viewer as something outlandish, hitherto unprecedented and, therefore, a very interesting sight. Like the lavender fields in Europe, bright orange and red leculeultia, so named after the lake where it grows, spread in the same way. It seems that all the representatives of the flora of Australia decided to have a costume ball here: epacrishes and richey bushes dress in bright white, pink and malachite outfits, clematis and hardenbergia braid tree trunks in a tender embrace and cover the ground with carpet.

Of course, this country is famous for its kangaroo - in addition to marsupial animals, there are representatives of the flora, named after this jumping beast - "paws of a kangaroo." These plants in Australia in the shape of their flowers really resemble fussy kangaroo paws. They attract attention not only with form, but also with color: from yellow to dark purple.

Another unique plant is Banksia - an evergreen tree with flowers of amazing beauty. Its dimensions are also interesting: this marvelous plant can reach both 30 meters in height and one meter. The most striking fact is the method of reproduction of Banksia. No matter how strange it sounds, these Australian plants spread their seeds thanks to fire: under the influence of the steppe fires, the seed box bursts, and thousands of seeds fly out.

A beautiful and unique corner of the world is Australia. It is here that you can admire the endemic beauty of numerous plants: the giant eucalyptus that the cute koala plush animal loves, pandanas (spiral palms), various ficuses, a bottle tree, acacias and many others - the untouched beauty of the mainland will amaze the nature lover and leave you in pleasant memories.
