Salekhard is a city in the north-west of Siberia. It is the administrative center of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It is smaller in size than some other cities in the region. Transport is not yet sufficiently developed. The Salekhard river port is one of the important transport facilities in the district.
Geographic features
Salekhard is located on the West Siberian Plain, at a distance of 2436 km from Moscow. It is located right on the Arctic Circle. Time in Salekhard is 2 hours ahead of Moscow.

River Port Salekhard
This is a large transport company in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It is managed by the Salekhard River Port Joint Stock Company. His work is carried out in the following areas:

- fleet maintenance;
- towing freight;
- other work.
The new port of Salekhard is well equipped, which makes it possible to solve a variety of problems. Fleet fleet includes passenger, towing, oil loading, service vessels and various cranes. Due to the presence of the railway line, goods are transported faster. Floating cranes allow you to work even in places where there are no special berths.
The so-called “New Salekhard Port” is, in fact, an old marina, now in poor condition. It is very difficult to get there - only by helicopter or by ferry from the river pier.
