In the modern arms market, there is a wide range of rifle units of pistol and revolving systems. Judging by the numerous reviews, revolvers are in great demand. Since 1953, the American arms company Ruger has been manufacturing its small arms products for such consumers. Information on the models of Ruger revolvers, device and technical specifications is contained in the article.

Acquaintance

According to many experts, high quality workmanship and reliability are inherent in all models of Ruger revolvers. The main feature of these shooting units is the presence of a special button latch for the drum. Judging by the numerous reviews of the owners, it is no less convenient than the sliding one that Smith-Wesson uses for its products. There are fixation grooves in the drum. In a six-shot version of the revolver, American designers shifted the recesses away from the chamber, thanks to which the drum walls retained their former thickness and strength. In the production of Ruger revolvers, stainless steel is used, which undergoes a matte finish. They also use durable rubber for the cheeks of the handles, which are attached to the weapon with screws.

About device

For Ruger revolvers, a trigger mechanism designed for double action is provided. In the USM design, the trigger is open and there is a blocking rod. Judging by the reviews of the owners, it is not difficult to clean and lubricate the weapon if necessary, since the trigger mechanism is contained in a removable unit. Due to this, the risk of losing any single part during incomplete disassembly and assembly is minimized. The rotation and fixing of the drum is performed until the cock is fully cocked. The barrel of the revolver has an underbarrel tide with smooth contours. As sights are used interchangeable front sight and rear sight. The latter is a special slot in the frame. In order to accelerate aiming, the owner of the revolver can install a fiber optic insert instead of a front sight.

Single six

This model is the first 22-caliber Ruger revolver. The first batch was released in 1953. The base for this rifle unit was the Colt M1873, a six-shot revolver with a single trigger mechanism. In the colt there was a solid frame, a charging door and a ramrod-ejector. In an effort to increase the operational life of the "ruger", instead of leaf springs, twisted cylindrical springs were installed in the revolver, and the frame shield was equipped with an inertial hammer. Initially, for Single Six, cartridges of 22 LR were intended. However, later they began to produce revolvers under the Winchester Magnum ring-ignition cartridge 22. The Ruger revolver has a total length of 30 cm, the barrel - 16.5 cm. With an empty ammunition, the rifle unit weighs no more than 980 g. In the drum of a 22-caliber revolver contains 6 rounds.

Weapons with 4.6; 6.5 and 10-inch trunks. In all three versions, revolvers with adjustable micrometric screw sights. Without ammunition, the Ruger weighs up to 1190. The production of revolvers of this model was established in 1968. According to experts, this is the first modern revolver of the weapons company Ruger. The rifle unit has a double trigger mechanism with a safety plate, a solid frame, a drum that leans back to the side. Its fixation is carried out using a special latch, which is located on the left side of the frame. Under the barrel there is a non-removable pencil case with a rod for ejecting cartridges. Security Six is available in two versions:

  • Speed Six. In revolvers handles with rounded shapes. In an effort to make hidden wearing possible, gunsmiths removed the shanks from the triggers. This modification is presented in two versions: revolvers with 2.75 and 4-inch barrels.
  • Police Service Six. The first rifle variants had both constant and variable sights. Soon, these options were shared. Revolvers, which were equipped with variable sights, appear as Security Six, firearms with permanent - Police Service Six. In the latter version, in order to make concealed wearing possible, weapon designers changed the outlines of the handles. Also, Police Service Six revolvers did not have 6-inch barrels. Shooting was carried out by 9 mm parabellum cartridges. For this reason, revolvers of this modification were also called the “Model 209”.

Redhawk

Revolver "Ruger Redhawk" is a heavy hunting hand-held small arms, for the production of which stainless steel was used. Produced since 1979. Shooting from this revolver was conducted by a cartridge “Remington Magnum” 44. Redhawk produced only with 7.5-inch barrels.
