It was there that Samwell Tarley and Lily first met.
The girl who attracts the attention of the brother of the Night Watch is one of Craster's wives. She is pregnant, which makes her turn to Sam for help. Lily wants to escape from her cruel spouse, who can take away her child. Tarli is forced to refuse her help, since there is no place for a woman and a child in the Black Castle.
Samwell Tarley and the girl meet again when the squad returns from the campaign. During a stop in the house of Craster, a riot breaks out, as a result of which not only the owner himself dies, but also the Lord Commander Mormont. Lily and Sam run away from the rebel brothers of the Night Watch. A white walker stands in their way, who is trying to pick up the child.
