The list of registered political parties is presented in the form of right, left and centrist. Some of them protect the interests of certain classes, while others are ranked among the defenders of peoples and nations. There are also lower-level parties, and there are high-end parties. It all depends on their members belonging to certain sectors of society.

A modern political party can support various ideologies and pursue certain goals. To understand these issues, you need to understand the terminology. Let's consider some definitions.

So, a modern political party is a special public organization that directly sets itself the task of mastering state power and then retaining it in its hands. For this, the state apparatus can be used, with the help of which it becomes possible to implement programs and events announced before the elections.

Political centrism - the position of a movement or political group, is an intermediate concept between left and right such groups, and also provides for the rejection of extremism.

Both old and new political parties should not use terms in their names that could offend national, racial or religious feelings. It is forbidden for them to use in their activities the bodies of state power, as well as local self-government. It should be noted that the fact that public associations without the status of a political party is prohibited from using the term “party” in the name.

A modern political party has the right to have its own emblem and symbol. Moreover, its symbols should not contain elements similar to the state or regional system of conventional signs. There is also a ban on the use of symbols that offend or defame the state (coats of arms, flags or anthems).

As indicated above, among the main areas of party activity, the following can be distinguished: left and right. Thus, the party, adhering to the left ideology, sets the achievement of social equality and improvement of living conditions for the lower layers of the population as the main goal of its activity. These may include social democracy and socialism. It is also customary to classify communists and anarchists as left-wing parties. The right parties are the exact opposite of the left.

It is necessary to note one more type of ideology, which does not always find its reflection in the characterization of political parties in Russia. This is liberalism, which applies, in addition to political, to philosophical and economic theory. The basis of this ideology is the provision on individual human freedom as the legal basis of the economic order in society.

To summarize, it should be noted that in accordance with the official website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the list of political parties in Russia includes about 76 units. However, the leader today is the United Russia party, created back in 2003, which has all the necessary attributes reflected in this article (emblem and symbolism). Its political activities are regulated by the Party Charter and the Program, which identifies the main areas of activity.
