Description of the appearance of the flag, the meaning of symbolism

The flag of Pakistan is a rectangular canvas in which the length and width are correlated as 3: 2. The field of the cloth is 3/4 dark green. In its left part (at the shaft) there is a white vertical strip. On a green background in the center are a white crescent and a 5-pointed star.

In August 1947, the modern-looking flag of Pakistan was officially approved. The meaning of the symbolism depicted on it:

  • green background - Muslims living in Pakistan, their vast majority, therefore the green background is the main color;

  • white line - non-Islamic religious minorities living in the territory of the state;

  • the white crescent is a symbol of progress;

  • the white 5-pointed star marks the light of knowledge.

Locals call their flag the flag of the crescent and stars.
