Kotelniki station was launched in 2015 and became the 197th stop of the Moscow Metro. With its launch, the mayor of the capital expressed the hope that it will be much easier to travel to Moscow and vice versa, as well as stopping points of the south-east direction will be unloaded. The station is located in the area of ​​Kotelnikov near Moscow. She is the last on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya branch.

History

The idea to build the Kotelniki station was born back in 2012. Metropolitan Mayor S. S. Sobyanin entrusted this mission to his deputy M. Sh. Khusnullin.

In October 2012, the first work was started in the Zhulebino area and to the Kotelniki station. The interval of the plot was 900 meters. Built by open method. The station site is 374 meters in length. The opening of the Kotelniki station took place on September 21, 2015.

Stages of construction

The construction of the station took place in several stages:

  • In the fall of 2012, survey work began, the construction site was fenced, equipment was brought in, the necessary cabins for the metro workers were installed.

  • In the winter of 2013, they began to build a station point.

  • In the spring of 2013, the laying of the concrete foundation of the station began, a left-side tunnel from Zhulebino was laid.

  • In the summer of 2013, a right-side tunnel was built.

  • In the winter of 2013-2014, all work was suspended.

  • In February 2014, work is resumed. The main part is fully concreted.

  • In the spring and summer of 2014, all work is underway. An electrician is being conducted.

  • In autumn and winter of 2014, work is completed, pavilions are completed, interior decoration is completed.

  • By the spring of 2015, finishing work is moving into the final stage.

  • In August 2015, a trial composition was launched. Run-in starts.

  • In September there was a triumphant opening of the Kotelniki metro station.

Architectural Details

Station "Kotelniki" refers to the type of shallow laying. It is laid at a depth of 15 meters. It resembles “Zhulebino” in configuration, differs from it in a more “brilliant” style of design, the presence of round columns, even ceiling. The station floor is lined with red granite stone.

The station hall is decorated with granite and marble. The color palette is filled with light gray tones, in harmony with decorative steel elements.

The station has two lobby structures located underground. They have two exits. The northwest exit is located at the 6th microdistrict of Zhulebino. The eastbound exit leads to the Novoryazanskoye highway.

There are three escalator lines in the western lobby, four in the east. There are elevators for people with limited mobility.

At the station, some new technology was used, which is later planned to be distributed to other metro stations. These include:

  • vending machines with drinks, desserts and snacks;

  • equipment for wrapping umbrellas in bags;

  • Installations for reading contact bank cards.

Devices for recharging mobile gadgets were also equipped, but due to the actions of the vandals they had to be eliminated.

On the day the station was launched, 13, 200 people used it.

By the spring of 2016, the flow of passengers increased to 41 thousand people.

At launch, the station was:

  • one with simultaneous access to three cities (Kotelniki, Lyubertsy and Moscow);

  • the second behind the administrative line of Moscow;

  • the second, with access to both Moscow and the region.

The length of the Zhulebino - Kotelniki section is 1.53 km.
