Ukraine has decided on who will represent the country at the Eurovision 2020 contest. The competition was serious, and the judges had a difficult time, but the winner of the qualifying competition was the Go-A group, performing songs in the style of folktronics. Despite the fact that there were enough worthy applicants, both the jury and the audience agreed and voted relatively equally.
How it was?
The Go-A group had to fight for its title, because among the participants there were other popular candidates (Jerry Heil, soloists Khayat and David Axelrod, as well as the duet Tvorchi). But the jury and the audience were adamant, despite the fact that all the artists performed with dignity.
In fact, the Go-A group was a real dark horse of selection, because almost no one knew about the musicians what they would not say about the other members. This year Eurovision will be held in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, in May.
Another news that impressed the audience: a transgender blogger will be the lead of the contest. This has not happened in the entire history of the contest. However, Eurovision does not cease to amaze us. The Ukrainian group will enter the stage of Rotterdam on May 12 with a song in their native language called The Nightingale.

Who are Go-A?
The participants call the year of foundation of the group 2011, it happened in the capital of Ukraine - Kiev. At that time, few people heard about folktronic. It is worth noting the fact that the popular band Onuka, performing in the same style, appeared only two years later.
Other well-known folk-playing bands appeared after Go-A. Therefore, they can be safely called the founders of this trend in Ukraine. However, it is interesting that before the qualifying competition in 2020, few people heard about this group, and the members of the collective were not known to the general public. For many, the new representatives of Ukraine at Eurovision became a real discovery.
Despite the fact that the group included musicians from all over Ukraine, they were presented at the competition as a Kiev team. It was also surprising that over the eight years of its existence, the composition of Go-A has changed as many as fourteen times. So there will be no tearful stories about "together from beginning to end."

The name of the group tells us about a return to basics. And although many associate the team with the island of Goa, this is wrong. The name combines the English word Go, which means "go, " and the Greek letter Alpha, whose meaning lies in the root causes of the development of the whole world.
Go-A's Creative Success
In fact, over the eight years of its existence, the group released only one solo album in November 2016. It consists of ten songs. Before the qualifying competition, the group was almost never invited to TV, and they did not participate in any state festivals.
But abroad Go-A has been known for a long time and is happy to receive. They often represented Ukrainian music at festivals in Israel, Poland and Belarus. Relative popularity of the group brought the track "Vesnyanka", with which Go-A won the competition The Best Track in Ukraine.
