Many people are well aware of such a combination as Yelan, 31612, Sverdlovsk Region. This number of the military unit and the name of the village of some former military servicemen are associated with memories of being in school.

This military unit is called 473 district educational Lisichansk Red Banner Center. Junior specialists, motorized riflemen study there.

Sverdlovsk Region, school (Yelan): history of education

Initially, the site of the current center was a unit of 279 rifle divisions, the formation of which dates back to 1942. Previously, it was structurally part of the 59th separate rifle brigade.

The newly formed unit fought on the Kaliningrad front, liberated the Smolensk region. In the fall of 1943, she participated in a breakthrough of defense near the Seversky Donets and the liberation of the city of Lysychansk. Since then, the name of this settlement is fixed in the name of the existing training center.

During the war, division fighters participated in battles in Ukraine, in the Crimea. When Simferopol was liberated, the division was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for participating in the operation.

Subsequently, there was a Sevastopol defense, the liberation of the Baltic states. After World War II, the division was redeployed to the area of ​​the city of Kamyshlov. After a year, there was a reduction, and the division turned into a rifle brigade.

In 1954, it was transformed into 61 mechanized divisions, and since 1957, into 44 tank divisions, which in 1956 was transferred to the village of Yelan (Sverdlovsk Region).

Since 1987, the tank division has become the 473rd district center, where motorized rifle troops began to train specialists for themselves.

Since 1998, the training center received the third qualification category. 2004 ended with the merger of two district training centers - the 473rd and 469th. The place of deployment was the city of Yelan (Sverdlovsk region).

Since September 2012, 241 airborne assault center has joined the Lisichansk Red Banner District Training Center.

In 2014, a new dormitory for cadets was built in the village. Poroshino. In Elani, there was a training ground where training is being conducted.

Training conditions

During the year, two newbies are admitted to the training center. Cadets are trained for four months, then 90 percent of the students are distributed in different parts, and the rest serve at the place of study, which became Yelan (Sverdlovsk region).

Cadets live in the dorms of the hostel, for each floor there is a room for recreation and sports. In the dining room are civilians.

Local water cannot be drunk, so it has to be delivered specifically for refueling coolers. Given the large number of military personnel (seven thousand people), water interruptions sometimes occur.

Soldiers and sergeants have no right to leave the unit’s location on their own, this can only be done with an officer. Similarly, you can visit the store located next to the military town.

About medical issues

Considering that climatic conditions in such a settlement as Yelan (Sverdlovsk region) are typical of the entire Ural region, that is, they are quite severe, a lot of attention is paid to medical issues. Diseases in these parts are not uncommon.

Every day, cadets undergo a medical examination. If any problems with the health of the patient are identified, they are taken to the premises of the medical center.

With a mild form of the disease, treatment can occur in a company environment. In case of serious complications, the recruit is taken to the ward of the infirmary or Elan hospital. In this case, officer support is not required.

From the hospital, the cadet has the right to call relatives on Tuesdays and Fridays until 14.00. On weekends, the phone is given to the patient for the whole day.

About taking the oath and the mode of visits

Taking the oath is a rather outstanding event in the life of a cadet, therefore it takes place in a solemn atmosphere. Start taking the oath on Saturday morning at nine o’clock. The cadets are then released for the whole day on leave.

At night, the soldiers are required to be in the location of the unit, even those who have families are not allowed to leave it.

On weekends, relatives can see cadets in special rooms of the checkpoint where meetings are allowed. Time is allotted for this: on Saturday from 13 to 19 hours and on Sunday from 10 am to 9 pm.

Cadets can get leave after submitting the appropriate report, which should include information about visiting relatives or friends, indicating the date and time of their visit.

Relatives are required a passport as collateral, as well as a mobile phone number and the exact address of the location.
