The South-West cemetery is one of the central memorials in Voronezh and occupies a central place in the ritual activities of the city. On its territory is located not only the administration of the cemetery itself, but also MKU "Administration of city cemeteries".
Description
Voronezh Southwest Cemetery is the largest in the city. It covers an area of 110 hectares, on which about 130, 000 burials are located.
The cemetery is geographically divided into three sections:
- Old cemetery - formed in the 1970s, at the beginning of the founding of the necropolis.
- New cemetery - appeared in 1987.
- Oaks are a modern burial zone, allocated closer to 2000.
Now in the South-West cemetery, new landfills are not allocated. The burial of the deceased is possible only in family or family plots.
The cemetery administration provides the following services:
- Search for an abandoned burial place.
- Burial cleaning.
- Laying centuries and flowers.
- Installation of tombstones and monuments.
- Restoration of monuments.
- Updating burial elements.
- Photo and video of the burial place.

Church
On the territory of the Voronezh South-West cemetery in 2008, a small prayer church of the Archangel Michael was erected. The church is a wooden three-domed structure in which the funeral of the Orthodox deceased and memorial services are held.
Designed for 100 people, the wooden temple building was erected in literally 2 months. The construction is in the form of a ship and is the only wooden church in Voronezh.
