Childhood and adolescence
June 18, 1960 in Krasnoyarsk, Edham Akbulatov was born. The nationality of the boy is the most intriguing question for many. So, according to official figures, his parents are purebred Tatars. The head of the family was a front-line soldier. At the end of the war, he received many military awards for his courage.
It was father who instilled in Edham love for his native land. He constantly took his son to his construction site, demonstrating how the world can change under the influence of man. With regard to this study, Akbulatov Edham went to school number 10 in Krasnoyarsk. Teachers remembered him as a diligent and reliable student. Student years
In the late 70's, Akbulatov Edham entered the Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute. Inspired by the achievements of his father, he chose the specialty "Civil and Industrial Engineering." The young man understood that this business was not only interesting to him, but also could bring considerable benefits to society.
However, the five years spent at the institute made Edham think about his future. He understood that great success cannot be achieved by working as a simple engineer. Therefore, in 1982, a former student entered the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Civil Engineering (KISI). Here, over the next three years, he will be in the position of assistant to the department of building structures.
In 1985, Akbulatov Edham sent to the capital to improve their skills. For this, he enters graduate school at the Moscow Engineering and Technical Institute. And only after receiving a diploma, he returns back to KISI, where he goes a long way from a simple assistant to an assistant professor of the department.
Tipping point
The collapse of the Soviet Union greatly changed the worldview of Edham Akbulatov. Being an intelligent person, he understood: Russia will face big changes. And he wanted to become part of these changes, so that they would benefit his land.
The first major achievement was his transfer to the committee on land management and land management of Krasnoyarsk. Here he worked from 1994 to 1998. Initially, he served as deputy chairman, and then moved to the chair of the head of the organization.
Possessing the necessary skills and knowledge, in 1998 Edham Shukrievich Akbulatov took the place of the head of the Main Department of Planning and Economics of the Administration of Krasnoyarsk. After that, the mayor's place becomes his main life goal, since it is this position that corresponds to the level of his ambitions.
The hard way to the dream

First, the politician received another higher education. This time he entered the Academy of National Economy under the Government of Russia. In 2001, he graduated with a master’s degree in Management.
Over the next few years, Edham Shukrievich spends on various leadership posts in the city administration. In 2005, he was noticed by the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Gennadievich Khloponin. A new acquaintance is very fruitful, and soon Akbulatov becomes deputy governor.
In the period from 2005 to 2007, the official is responsible for the planning and economics department. In 2008, he was promoted to Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In this position, he manifests himself as a strong-willed person. His projects and a fresh approach to business leads to the fact that the popularity of the current city authorities is rapidly growing.
Therefore, it is not surprising that in January 2010 Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev appointed Edham Akbulatov as the interim governor of the region. (For reference: the previous head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Aleksandr Gennadievich Khloponin, was removed from his post, as his help was needed in the new North Caucasus Federal District.)
Mayor's chair
On December 13, 2011, the current mayor of Krasnoyarsk leaves his post ahead of schedule. This is because politics is elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The next day, the duties of the interim head of the city rest with his deputy Akbulatov.

Achievements
What kind of politician is Edham Akbulatov? The mayor’s biography is a prime example of how one person can change the lives of many people for the better. But in order not to be unfounded, let's look at the most significant achievements of the head of Krasnoyarsk.
First, he was able to achieve increased funding for road repairs. Thanks to this, the city managed to renew most of the transport routes. Not to mention the fact that under his strict supervision several new multi-level forks were erected, capable of unloading traffic jams.
Secondly, Edham Akbulatov is the main initiator of the city’s landscaping project. He plans to plant about 1 million trees on the streets of Krasnoyarsk (this figure is symbolic, since under his rule the city will receive the title "millionaire"). In addition, the budget provides for the reconstruction of old courtyards and parks.
Thirdly, he listens to his voters. For example, when Krasnoyarsk residents opposed the construction of a ferroalloy plant, he fully supported them. Thanks to this, the city can sleep peacefully, because harmful waste will not get into their land.
Criticism
Naturally, not a single politician can escape from dissatisfied complaints about him. Akbulatov Edham was no exception. Throughout his reign, there were people who accused the mayor of various crimes.
For example, in 2012, a journalist tried to convict a politician of bribery. According to him, Edham Shukrievich demanded 10 million rubles from a certain entrepreneur for a land plot. However, he did not have direct evidence proving the mayor’s guilt.
Another scandal in the garden of Akbulatov was the scandalous post of Moscow blogger Ilya Varlamov. It told us that the mayor is not able to clean up the city pier. The head of Krasnoyarsk himself admitted the existence of the problem, but advised the unfortunate writer to monitor his achievements.
