In general, of course, it is extremely difficult to find out who the ancestors of the “ordinary” person of non-noble origin were, especially in Russia. The fact is that if representatives of the upper class had their own estates and lived in one place for centuries, then peasants often migrated throughout the country. In addition, many settlements disappeared in the fires of fires or were destroyed as a result of wars. So, in the case of the current president of the Russian Federation, everything turned out differently. Putin's parents came from families who lived for centuries in neighboring villages. In particular, the paternal great-grandfathers of the president lived in Pominovo in the Turginovsky district and were hereditary peasants. This locality exists today, however, most of the year there are only 2 dozen people living there, but in the summer there are always a lot of vacationers who come mainly from St. Petersburg. According to a book written by the cousin of the incumbent president about the family tree of his family, at first their ancestors lived in the village of Bordino. In the 18th century, one of the descendants of the Putin family, Semyon Fedorovich, moved to Pominovo. As for his brothers and sisters, they settled throughout Russia during the years of the plague epidemic, which began around 1771.

Like many residents of the Tver province, many ancestors of the current president went to work in St. Petersburg. Especially successful in the northern capital was his grandfather - Spiridon Ivanovich. He received the specialty of a cook in his youth and worked for many years in the famous Astoria restaurant. This was very prudent, since during the First World War, when it became very difficult to get food in St. Petersburg, Spiridon Ivanovich returned with his wife and four children to Pominovo. The dad of the current president - Vladimir Spiridonovich - was born in 1911. At the age of about four years, he was brought from St. Petersburg to Pominovo, from where he went to serve in the fleet as a submariner. After returning to his native village, he married, and then Putin's parents moved to St. Petersburg. It is also known that their firstborn was a son Albert (died before the start of the Second World War), and in St. Petersburg they had another boy, who was named Victor. When the war broke out, Vladimir Vladimirovich’s father was taken to the front, where he took part in the heroic defense of the Nevsky Piglet and was seriously injured.

The ancestors of the current president on the maternal side are the Shelomovs. That is exactly what the surname of Maria Ivanovna sounded - the mother of Vladimir Vladimirovich, who, like her husband, was born in 1911. Once in St. Petersburg with her husband and children on the eve of World War II, she survived the blockade, during which she lost her son Viktor, who died of diphtheria. By the way, despite all sorts of “sensational” versions appearing in the press regarding what kind of origin Putin has, the nationality of the parents of the incumbent president cannot be in doubt. They are certainly Russian.
Family life after the end of the Second World War
In the postwar years, Maria Ivanovna and Vladimir Spiridonovich worked at the factory, and in 1952 their son Volodya was born. Putin's parents were simple and hospitable people. For many years, Vladimir Vladimirovich lived with his mother and father in a communal apartment in Baskovy Lane in Leningrad. Moreover, there were no amenities, except for the phone, which was used by all the neighbors. It is also known that the father of the future President was very fond of the Amur Waves waltz and often forced his son Vova to play his accordion. However, the boy did not like to make music, preferring sambo. Parents of Putin, whose photos can be seen below, did not approve of this son’s hobby, so the first coach of the future president even had to conduct an explanatory conversation with them. She bore fruit, and Maria Ivanovna and Vladimir Spiridonovich no longer prevented her son from playing sports.

At school, Vova was a rather sociable boy. He was always surrounded by friends who enjoyed visiting their house. According to their recollections, the mother of the current president was a very active and economic woman. She hated the mess and could make her son change three shirts in a day. As for Putin’s father, his son’s classmates were afraid of him, because he seemed to them to be a very strict person who, however, never even raised his voice on his son.
Also, childhood friends of Vova noted that they were often invited to visit Putin's dacha, which was located near the Tosno station. For example, his school friend Viktor Borisenko warmly recalls that when he, along with other neighboring children, came to a classmate, his mother treated them to all sorts of goodies of his own preparation.

The mother and father of the current president died in 1998 and 1999, that is, they managed to witness the career take-off of their son. However, Putin’s parents did not try, as they would say today, to PR, but lived a calm, measured life. The only thing that the doctors who treated Vladimir Spiridonych recalled was how, shortly before his death, he said: “My son is the king!” This exclamation showed the pride of a simple working man who raised a well-known politician who reached the heights of power.
