History of creation

The first information about the building along Kuibyshev Street dates back to 1835. During this period, the building belonged to Fedorov Mikhail Ivanovich. The house was inherited after his death. But in 1877 there was a fire, the estate burned to the ground. Relatives of Fedorov Mikhail Ivanovich decided not to restore the house.

The merchant Ivan Andreevich Klodt rented a house next to the site. In the 80s of the 19th century, he built for himself a house resembling a fairytale castle. In honor of the founder, the "Children's Art Gallery" has another name - the estate of Klodt. After the death of the merchant, the house housed residential apartments. Then, various organizations of Samara found refuge:

  • kindergarten;
  • first children's school of art (artists);
  • GIT 115;
  • consulate of Afghanistan.

In 1990, under the leadership of Ievleva Nina Vasilyevna, a museum of creativity was opened on the site of the estate under the name "Children's Art Gallery".
