Here, perhaps, there can be no two opinions. And in life, and in philosophy for people, kindness is a virtue, a value. This is when viewed from universal positions. Each of us would like to deal with someone who is condescending to our mistakes, with someone who is willing to forgive and understand
who sincerely wants to support. Indeed, for most people, kindness is a quality in which “desire and do good” for others, first of all, becomes a need of the soul.
However, let's think about it from the point of view … no, not cynical, a little more pragmatic. So, one who does good is approaching divine truth. But how to distinguish intentions from manifestations? Wound or forced from the sincere? Here is an example: an alcoholic in a family. For him, as a rule, from the side of those close to him, kindness is forgiveness, this is the absence of criticism and the imposition of his will on him. Simply put, he believes that if someone wishes him well, he will not force him to heal. A good wife will take him away, call for work, get off the bottle … But in fact, in fact, every next dose of alcohol kills him, brings an inevitable end, aggravates the suffering of the whole family and him in particular.
So, in this case, is kindness indulging weaknesses and illnesses? Psychologists and therapists say the opposite: a greater benefit in this case can be done if you turn away from the patient. Let him fall, so that later he has a chance to rise. Indeed, sobriety cannot be "violent", it must come from the person himself. Therefore, he must realize the horror of his situation. And how will he be able to do this if his relatives do not give him the opportunity to understand that something is wrong?
Another example that will show us that kindness is a relative concept, trade and business. Of course, social responsibility, good intentions, the desire to bring people benefits are important components of success. However, what can be the kindness of people doing business? To give work to those in need? Probably yes. But what if they do not possess the necessary qualities, qualifications, knowledge? Will they benefit business and the common cause or accelerate bankruptcy? An entrepreneur can, for example, dedicate all his proceeds to charity. But then the business will have nothing to develop, cash receipts will begin to dry up … And the company will have to close. Or another example: can an entrepreneur be kind to his partners and competitors? That is, to enter a position, to meet, help and forgive, for example, defects or marriage?
From the foregoing, we see that kindness is a concept that depends on interpretation, on what the speaker puts into the meaning of the word. We can also conclude that this is relative, not absolute, value in real life. The theme of "kindness" has been entertaining people since ancient times.
First of all, in relation to the supreme powers, to the gods. Are they kind or are they fair in the first place? Is it possible that these two concepts are mutually exclusive? Are these higher forces indifferent to the fate of a person or take part in it, are sympathetic? And finally, do the gods forgive or punish? If they are punished, then on the basis of what - from actions, manifestations of human qualities or intentions? As you can see, these questions have been unanswered for centuries. We have given several examples in which kindness is a weakness. However, others are possible. Where kindness is power, it is the power of forgiveness. Everyone, however, solves this issue for himself.
