Each country has its own specific symbols. However, for all countries, the flag is the single symbol. It should be everywhere and show the so-called face of a particular power. So, the flag of Seychelles. What does their banner mean and how to interpret the colors?

Flag history

Seychelles in its history had a sad opportunity to visit a colonial country under British rule. That is why the flag of the islands initially looked like an ordinary blue cloth. The British flag was located on the right side of the upper corner, and the coat of arms of the colony on the left.

Only in 1976 did the Seychelles receive independence status and created their own flag. However, he did not stay long, because in 1977 a coup d'etat rose and the flag was again modified by the party that came to power (United People's Party).

The new flag looked like a rectangle with a white wavy strip. This strip divided the flag into two unequal horizontal parts. The top of the canvas is marked in red, and the bottom is indicated in light green.

This option lasted a little longer - until 1996. However, he was found a replacement. So there was a modern version of the flag of Seychelles.

The colors of the flag of Seychelles are quite significant. The blue color for the inhabitants of this state denotes the sky and the Indian Ocean, in the territory of which the islands are located.

Yellow is a sun that warms and illuminates the earth with its rays (among other things, very fertile lands).

The red color is the desire to live, work, implement any plans in love and order. It is this color that is of greater importance among all others for the inhabitants of Seychelles.

Order is the basis of state affairs of a country. Therefore, in honor of him, the flag also shows white color.

The islands are rich in vegetation, wildlife. Green is the color that symbolizes these two qualities. It is in the lowest position, as if to say that the islands are kept in nature.

The flag of the Seychelles is very rich in colors, compared with other flags of the world. The inhabitants of the country give special meaning to each color and really reckon with all concepts and traditions.
