Where chanterelles grow, mixed or purely deciduous forests often rise. However, these mushrooms occasionally grow in coniferous forests, but they are not found less often there. The appearance of the chanterelles is quite peculiar: the body is bright yellow or orange, the flesh is the same, and the cap is soft and wavy.

In no case do not turn them out of the ground, as this entails the destruction of the mycelium and a decrease in the yield of the place in the future. It is necessary to carefully cut them off at the very base, since in this case the mycelium will not be damaged, and new chanterelle mushrooms will appear in the same place.
Where do the largest colonies grow? Try going to more wooded areas. The drier the year, the higher the likelihood to find this red-haired delicacy there, since the chanterelles love humidity. Unfortunately, they are extremely rare in pine trees. As we said, there is a high probability of bringing a full basket in a mixed forest.

If blueberries grow on some plot in the forest, then you can pass by: for some reason, the chanterelles do not tolerate the neighborhood with blueberries.
Of course, if you want to collect as many of these wonderful mushrooms as possible, you need to consider the season and season. It is best to go to the forest in early autumn, but it all depends on the rains and their frequency.
If they have grown, chanterelles practically do not dry and do not rot. When moisture in the surrounding substrate is low, they simply stop growing. That is why in the lowlands you can find huge, juicy and completely fresh mushrooms.
