Joanne Gourcuff is a French professional footballer who has been playing as an attacking midfielder for the Rennes club since the 2015/2016 season. Between 2008 and 2013 played for the national team of France, spent 31 matches and scored four goals. Previously played in clubs such as Bordeaux, Lyon, Rennes and Milan. As part of the latter, Joan Gourcuff is the winner of the Champions League 2007, the UEFA Super Cup 2007 and the winner of the Club World Cup 2007. Speaking for Bordeaux, he became the champion of the French League-1 of 2009, the holder of the French League Cup 2009 and two-time winner of the French Super Cup (2008, 2009). The French Cup and Super Cup were won in 2012, when Gurcuff's career was listed in Lyon.
Biography
Joanne Gourcuff was born on July 11, 1986 in Ploamer, France. At an early age he began to play football. Between 1992 and 2001 played in the youth composition of Loriana, after which he moved to the Renna Academy. In 2003, he signed a professional contract with the club.
Career at Milan
In the summer of 2006, the midfielder fell into the sphere of interests of many eminent European clubs. Among these were Valencia, Ajax, Arsenal and, accordingly, Milan. In the race for French talent, the Rossoneri won, although others offered a lot more money for the player. In the end, Joanne Gourcuff moved to the Italian Milan for 4.5 million euros and signed a five-year contract.
In his debut match against the Greek club AEK Athens, the Frenchman scored a goal. It seemed that the arrived footballer would take a regular place at the base, however, the competition in Milan was too great. And this is not at all strange, because the “red-black” included such masters as Gennaro Gattuso, Kaka, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf and many others. Many experts claimed that Joanne Gourcuff would be a substitute, but the Frenchman was able to rise above the situation in the team and spent 33 matches in the debut season.
In the next season, the player performed a little less - 20 matches in all tournaments. In total, with “Rossoneri”, Joann held 36 matches, scored two goals and became the owner of three trophies.
Going to Bordeaux
In the 2008/2009 season, the Frenchman returned to his homeland, where he signed a lease agreement with Bordeaux. In the debut season, the player has 49 matches in all tournaments and recorded 13 goals in his statistics. After such a successful year, Joanne Gourcuff was nominated for the Golden Ball and was recognized as the best player in France in 2009.
In the 2009/10 season, the Girondins bought a midfielder contract for 15 million euros. Gourcuff became an indispensable core player in the team, thanks to his technical talent. He was one of the best controllers of the French championship.
Career at Lyon
On August 24, 2010, Joanne signed a five-year contract with the "aristocrats" for 22 million euros. Over the next five years, the player spent 128 matches for the club and scored 19 goals. As part of Lyon, he often received injuries and most of the time was an incompetent footballer while in the infirmary. When the midfielder got a hip muscle break, he could not play for 700 days and only in March 2015 he started recovering.
At the expiration of the contract, the player moved to Rennes, where he signed an agreement until 2018.
