Young years, education

Alena Peneva was born in 1978. From an early age, the girl spent a lot of time in Europe. She studied at colleges in the UK, Germany and Switzerland, and after receiving secondary education entered the law department of the University of London Guildhall. Over the period of her life abroad, Alena was able to perfectly master several foreign languages ​​and learn the art of doing business. Having received a diploma, the girl remained in the capital of Great Britain and found a job in her specialty. But boring legal practice quickly bothered her. Having decided to change the field of activity, Peneva got a job in a large company as a PR manager, where she worked successfully until returning to Moscow.

Career start

Returning to Russia in 2002, Peneva firmly decided to devote her life to journalism. Once in the hands of a girl was the issue of Vogue magazine, and without thinking twice, she called his editorial office and asked if employees were needed there. She was advised to send a resume, and soon after that she was invited for an interview. Alena managed to impress the leaders of the publication Vika Davydova, Alain Doletskaya and Daniel Padiche. According to the results of the interview, Peneva was approved by the junior editor of the beauty department of Vogue magazine. The girl held this position for two years.

Further career advancement

In 2004, Alena Peneva was offered to head the beauty and health department in the Russian version of the glossy magazine Harper's Bazaar, published by Independent Media Sanoma Magazines (IMSM). In this position, as in Vogue, the young woman worked for 2 years. The out-of-the-box thinking, vigor, determination and working capacity of Peneva did not go unnoticed by the management of the publishing house.

In 2006, Alena headed the special projects department in another edition of IMSM - Grazia Women's Weekly. In the spring of 2009, Peneva was appointed editor-in-chief of this magazine, replacing her friend Daria Veledeeva, who had moved to work at Harper's Bazaar, as a post.

As chief editor

As editor-in-chief, Alena Peneva managed to turn Grazia weekly into one of the most widely read fashion, style and star magazines in Russia. The woman began to often travel on foreign business trips, attend social events, and communicate with celebrities. Penev can often be seen at fashion shows in Paris, New York and Milan, her opinion is authoritative for many figures in the fashion industry and show business.

Work at Grazia was not the final step in the career ladder of Peneva. In November 2017, Alena left the post of editor-in-chief of the weekly in order to lead the glossy publication Cosmopolitan Russia. But Peneva did not finally leave Grazia. To this day, she remains the editorial director of the magazine and still takes an active part in his life.
