The crate is the cold part of the hut, which was ready for operation immediately after the roof was arranged. The crate was used as bedrooms in the summer, as the floors in it were earthen, and the room did not have time to heat up during the day. And in the winter, the cold part served as a kind of refrigerator, in which perishable products, grain and unnecessary things were stored.

But, in addition to the main, there is more than one meaning of the word "crate". This term is used in mining, as well as in metallurgy. He entered the life of the workers so tightly that it is impossible to imagine if a different name was used instead.
In metallurgy, the crate is a special device that helps automate the operation of the rolling mill and the production of a certain type of product. At different plants, the rolling stand can have various modifications.
The main task of the named stand is to squeeze out (roll out, flatten) rolled metal with the help of rolls of different sizes and use the rotating bearings to redirect the movement of the finished product in the right direction for the next stage of production.
Firms involved in the production of metallurgical stands offer many of their types for various stages of rental. The main task of such devices: resistance to stress, easy access to all parts in case of breakage, automation of the whole process.
Mining engineering
The concept of "crate" is also used in mining. In mines, a crate is a special device used by miners to raise coal, ore, and other minerals to the surface.
Until the end of the eighteenth century, in mines, the extraction of produced material was carried out manually or with the help of a winch. The pots were filled with shovels, and then raised to the surface. With the advent of electricity, everything changed, and instead of people or horses, the crates were lifted using a special mechanism.
Three types of stands are used in mines: freight, freight-passenger and passenger. Depending on the type, they have additional functions. So, the passenger crates are closed on all sides, so that in case of an emergency passengers will not be hurt.
