Ed Solomon, an American writer, producer and director, shared a story about a little girl on his Twitter account, supported by a completely unfamiliar man who witnessed their quarrel with his mother. This story received wide publicity - many people saw themselves in it and regretted that once the very kind stranger was not nearby.
“A couple of days ago, a friend of mine told me that her mother often scolded her when she was a baby, ” the man writes. “Once it happened in an elevator, in front of completely strangers.”
The reaction of others
Most often, in such situations, outsiders try not to intervene and not interrupt the educational process, but on that day the stranger decided to help the girl.
“When the elevator door opened, my acquaintance’s mother immediately flew out of it and quickly went to where she needed to, not expecting her daughter. Then the stranger leaned over to the delayed girl and said to her, “ Hello. ”The eleven-year-old girl turned around and he confidentially continued: “The point is in it, not in you, ” Solomon recalls.
And even if the stranger said a few words, it had a huge impact on the then eleven-year-old girl. Then she believed all those rude words with which her mother scolded her, and the words of the stranger helped her not to lose heart.

Solomon also wrote that his 53-year-old acquaintance shared that at times when she’s having a hard time, she often hears her mother’s voice saying to her: “You won’t be able to do this. Don't even try, it's too hard for you.” But at that moment she recalls the face of that kind stranger, and immediately she becomes much easier. "Sometimes this is the only thing that helps her move on and not give up, " Ed wrote.
Later, the writer explained what he wanted to convey to his audience. “If you can say something nice to a stranger, do it. You never know what is happening in a person’s life. Perhaps it’s your words that will warm him all his life and become the main motivation and support.”
