Surely many of us went to supermarkets in Russia and ran into delay. The moment is unpleasant, while it is not rare for most Russian stores. However, in Germany I have never seen such a thing. What German shops do with expiring products, Russian supermarkets could take note.
Delay in Germany
Having moved to Germany, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw in a supermarket a whole rack with a discount of 50-90%. Literally everything lay there: cheese, fish, sausage, ravioli, cottage cheese, sour cream, ready-made salads, pickles, pate, yoghurts, etc. Of course, with all this, a commodity neighborhood was observed. I asked the guy why so cheap. To which he replied that these products expire either tomorrow or in a few days. To sell goods, the store makes such a discount. Otherwise, it will still be written off.
And I want to say that people are constantly spinning near this shelf. We also found there several times what was needed. For example, I made sushi, I needed a fish. Just here I found a pack of 200 g for 1.5 €. Its usual price is 4 €. Not poisoned, ate with pleasure!

Take away for nothing
Another time, I saw a whole shelf with free goods that expired on the next day. Such a promotion is periodically arranged by another supermarket. Of course, the products are taken apart quickly. Everyone loves to eat for free. True, I never took anything from there. There was one, did not know the rules. It seems that there was some kind of quantity limit. Since at that time I still did not speak German well, it was not possible to ask. If I run into such an action, I’ll definitely share it.
