"Rumyantsevo" is a metro station, the construction of which could begin in the seventies of the last century. Then the capital's urban planners decided to unload the Kursk Station, erecting another one, in the south of the Moscow Region. However, the plans have changed. The station in Rumyantsevo changed their minds about building, and at the same time, the need to open a new metro station was no longer needed.

For more than fifty years, the final stop on the Sokolnicheskaya line has been Southwest. The issue of building new stations was not relevant until 2011. It was then that a project was created to expand Moscow. In 2014, the construction of the Troparevo station was completed. Metro builders did not stop there. The creation of new red line stations continued. By 2016, two more sites were built. The opening of the Rumyantsevo metro station took place on January 18. "Salaryevo" - February 15. What are the goals of the project to expand the capital? What does the opening of the Rumyantsevo metro station give residents of the south-west of Moscow?

Construction

Although the opening of the Rumyantsevo metro station for many years was not an essential event, in the eighties the question of it was raised again. Along Leninsky Prospekt, it was supposed to build a chord line. Station "Rumyantsevo" was supposed to be part of it. But this project has not been approved.

In 2014, they planned to commission a new site. But soon information appeared on the network that the opening of the Rumyantsevo metro station was postponed. The technical launch took place in 2015. Opening - a year later. Although initially the year 2014 was opened, the Rumyantsevo station was announced.

"New Moscow"

The objectives of this project are to streamline urban planning zoning and dismantle the monocentric structure of the capital. In the media, information about him first appeared in 2011. New Moscow is an analogue of the British New Delhi project. And in the first and second case, the expansion of the city was carried out in a south-west direction. As a result of the New Moscow project, the Russian capital expanded so much that it was able to rise from eleventh to sixth in the ranking of the largest cities in the world. However, the population has changed little. Muscovites reacted to the project in different ways. Designers believe that New Moscow will provide residents of the city with apartments and new jobs.

Station "Rumyantsevo" of the Moscow metro is located near the Kiev highway and very close to the business center of the same name. Nearby is the village of the same name. Regarding the village of Rumyantsevo, several facts are known. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, about two hundred people lived here. In 1913, the Zemstvo school was opened. In 1926, according to the census, more than three hundred people lived in the village. Rumyantsevo became a part of Moscow in 2012.

A small digression into the past

Moscow Metro has a long history. The first stations were opened before the war. The subway is constantly being completed. Each of the periods is characterized by certain features. The first stations of the Moscow metro resemble the underworld. Here you can see massive sculptures and bas-reliefs in the style of classicism. The last stations, in the design of which the emphasis was on decoration, are Frunzenskaya, Sportivnaya. After their discovery, the "ascetic" period began in the history of metro construction. Simplicity has come to the place of luxury. When creating new Moscow metro stations, including Rumyantsevo, equal importance is attached to practicality and aesthetics.

Architectural design

"Rumyantsevo" refers to shallow stations. Less construction space was allocated than usual, which is why the cash lobbies and office premises are located on the upper tier, and the platform is on the lower tier. The authors of the project on which the station was built are the architects of the Infproject company.

Unusual elements for the Moscow metro were used in the decoration. So, on the walls there are drawings characteristic of abstract painting. In creating this project, architects were based on the work of the Dutch artist Mondrian.
