It was not by chance that Oleg Tyagnibok, whose biography will be described in this article, became such a successful person, and his Freedom party did not accidentally become one of the main and one of the most influential political forces in the Ukrainian government. Oleg Yaroslavovich claims that his actions are not just big words, but a plan of action that will be correctly and consistently used in each region of the country to improve the standard of living of citizens. In addition, the concept “Tyagnibok - Maidan” has recently become inextricable.

How it all began

Tyagnibok Oleg Yaroslavovich was born on November 7, 1968 in Lviv. The real surname on the grandmother's line sounded like Fortman. The whole family of the future leader was educated and led an active social and political life. Yaroslav Tyagnibok was a doctor of the USSR boxing team. As you can understand, the family in those years was not in poverty and practically did not need anything. Mother, Bogdana Artemova, worked as a pharmacist in one of the Lviv pharmacies. When the future politician was in the 10th grade, he lost his father. The boy then experienced this event very painfully, which affected his whole future life. According to Oleg Tyagnibok himself, whose biography is not easy, he had to endure difficult moments of his life: “In those years, my grandfather raised me, or rather, continued my education, who taught me everything that I know, know how and for what I live for.”

Influential Ancestors

Grandfather, Artyom Tsegelsky, was a Greek Catholic priest, whom in 1946 the authorities sent to Siberia for ten years because he did not betray his faith and did not agree to go to the Orthodox Church from the Catholic Church. After returning to his homeland, he trained underground seminarians, who eventually revived the Catholic Church in western Ukraine. Oleg Yaroslavovich’s great-grandfather, Longin Tsegelsky, in 1919 was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the ZUNR (West Ukrainian People’s Republic) in the USA, and after the formation of the USSR he stayed there.

After the death of her husband, some time later, Oleg's mother got married. The guy has a pretty good relationship with his stepfather, and he sometimes calls him dad.

Tyagnibok: biography, nationality

There are various versions on this score. Tyagnibok Oleg, whose nationality is not in doubt only among members of his family, was born in the Ukrainian SSR. At the same time, one can hear widely held opinions that the eminent politician is not a Ukrainian.

The leader’s family lived in a small apartment in the city center. Just at the time when Tyagnibok was submitting his application for participation in the parliamentary elections, his apartment burned down. According to the politician himself, it was arranged by his opponents who wanted to intimidate Oleg Yaroslavovich, but, as you can understand, they did not succeed. After the election was successful, the politician moved to Kiev, where he lives to this day.

The organization was dubbed extremely radical, as it fought for its beliefs with all available, but legal methods. The plans of the young party were joining the SNPU (Social-Nationalist Party of Ukraine). The SNPU was led by the Lviv medical elite and the "Afghans."

Like-minded people

In the early 90s, the "fraternity" wanted to unite with other right-wing organizations, which were close to them in spirit and political convictions, but did not succeed. In 2001, in support of the example of Viktor Yushchenko, the Ukrainian Rightswoman was created, which was formed with the help of the SNPU. Three years later, in 2004, Freedom was formed, headed by Oleg Tyagnibok, who supported the same Yushchenko, but as a presidential candidate. After Viktor Yushchenko became president of Ukraine, party affairs quickly went up.

But, despite all the party’s attempts to get into parliament, they were not immediately successful, and in the 2006 elections, the party received an insufficient number of votes. A year later, the party "Freedom" Tyagnibok was moved to the post of mayor of Kiev. But this attempt was unsuccessful, as Oleg Yaroslavovich managed to get only two percent of the vote. But it’s worth recalling that there was still progress in the confidence of voters, since the party got just 91, 340 votes on the first attempt to get into parliament, and a year later it won 352, 261 votes, which brought 8th place against the past 18th.

And in the 2010 parliamentary elections, the Freedom party, which was represented by Oleg Tyagnibok, managed not only to break into parliament, but to consolidate itself there and become one of the country's main political forces.

In the same year, Viktor Yanukovych was elected president. And against his political views, VO “Liberty” formed a coalition together with several other political forces of the country.

Maidan - Ukraine - Tyagnibok

This topic is separate and quite fascinating, as events literally turned Ukraine upside down. This time has already received its name "winter of change." And this is no accident. The coup d'etat allowed some representatives of the authorities to leave others out of work. And the whole Ukrainian people made it clear who is who.

The surrounding people noticed a rather high moral value of the democracy of the Ukrainian people. Since, if it had not been, the inhabitants of the new state would not have been able to free themselves from the fetters of the Party of Regions. The former government has stolen over $ 80 billion in all the time that they have been in power. For these funds, it was possible to repay the debt of Russia for gas and still acquire it for decades.

Tyagnibok took an active part in the life of the Maidan from the very moment of its creation. It was he who conveyed to the people the whole truth about Ukrainian politics.

After the overthrow of the Yanukovych regime in the country, presidential elections were scheduled. Tyagnibok also put forward his candidacy, as he was sure that he had gained the support of the people, helping him in difficult times. At the moment, according to official statistics, only six percent of voters are ready to vote for the leader of the Svoboda Alliance, but everything else can change. Today Freedom is one of the main parties in Ukraine.

Views

If we analyze the party’s election campaign in more detail, we can understand what priorities Oleg Tyagnibok sets for himself, the main promise of which is that he will not allow the separatists to split Ukraine. The leader also talks about raising the economy in the country, since after the winter events in the country, the crisis. In economics, the presidential candidate proposes to build a competent policy. According to the party’s plans, it is necessary to stop the supply of energy from Russia and make better use of the transit potential of Ukraine.

Back in 2010, “Freedom” and Oleg Tyagnibok proposed three laws that implied impeachment for the president, that is, the possibility of depriving him of the most important seat in the country if he commits actions that are contrary to the law and constitution of Ukraine. The law “On Opposition” and the law on “Dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine” were also submitted for consideration.

In national politics, the party’s position regarding the interaction between Ukrainians and national minorities is particularly pronounced, where both the rights and obligations of both parties regarding public life were clearly defined. Tyagnibok proposes to consolidate the Ukrainian language and not allow anyone to add another state language, as this will simply humiliate the Ukrainians and because of this, the country's rating will drop on the global background.

The party also seeks to ensure that national symbols become the main values in the country and the forgotten folk traditions return. Tyagnibok Oleg Yaroslavovich himself, whose photo today can often be found in Western media, offers to return the column "nationality" to the citizen’s passport. He believes: "You need to be proud of your nationality, especially if you have a country like Ukraine."

Tyagnibok emphasizes that he is not a nationalist and Russophobe, as many call him. He is also against federalization, which, in his opinion, will unbalance the political system in Ukraine and soon simply destroy it. From the statements of the politician it can be understood that the separatist ideas that sometimes sound in the Verkhovna Rada are anti-popular, and they simply should not be taken seriously, since their heralds want to aggravate the unhealthy situation in Ukraine.

Tyagnibok about Russian

You can see videos on the Internet in which Tyagnibok says that the Russian language should be banned and that Russians should not be granted the status of a citizen of Ukraine. However, with a more detailed viewing, you can hear only the words of the commentator, and not the statements of Tyagnibok.

One of the Russian channels declares its intention to prosecute Russian-speaking people living in Ukraine. However, no evidence is offered of such threats. Therefore, such a statement with full confidence can be called a provocation of the forces concerned.

What phrases did Tyagnibok’s speech actually contain:

  • “there will be no oppression of representatives of other nationalities, including the linguistic one”;

  • “there must be a law that will guard the interests of national minorities”;

  • "let's not dramatize" - this probably applies to representatives of the Russian media.

Financial situation

According to the politician himself, his monthly income is 15 thousand hryvnias - as the salary of the leader of the party "All-Ukrainian Association of Freedom".

The party’s funding source is a monthly contribution of 3 hryvnia each of its participants. The party is also financed by means of the Economic Council, whose representations work in many areas.

Tyagnibok rides Oleg Yaroslavovich in a Toyota jeep. Such a machine, according to his own statement, is needed for a more comfortable ride on Ukrainian roads, the quality of which leaves much to be desired. Oleg Yaroslavovich calls it a motor home and is very pleased with his car, which he uses as a representative of VO "Freedom", that is, it does not belong to him.

By registration, O. Tyagnibok lives in an apartment near Kiev, where in the distant 1998 he received registration as a member of the party. But now he lives in Lviv, in an apartment that is located in the city center and has an area of more than one hundred square meters. The apartment is the property of the grandmother. According to Oleg Yaroslavovich himself, he gave the apartment to his grandmother, and saved up half his life on it.
