The largest crocodile (photo below) is a comb. In connection with external features, it is also often called nostril, hilly or marine. The habitat of the species is the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The length of the males reaches seven meters, and their weight ranges from four hundred kilograms to one ton. The largest of these reptiles was killed in India more than one century ago. Its length was 9.9 m. It should be noted that this is the largest crocodile in meters, of all that have ever been recorded. In most cases, the food of this variety is mollusks and fish. However, adults often attack larger animals - antelopes, wild pigs and buffaloes that come to the watering hole. In this case, the predator grabs the prey and draws it into the water, where it can no longer provide active resistance. It should also be noted that these largest crocodiles in the world can attack people.

The next is a view like Nile. Adult males are up to 5 m long and weigh no more than 500 kg. As for the females, they are about one third smaller in size. The life span of these individuals is about 45 years. Most often they are found on the banks of freshwater rivers, swamps and lakes in Africa. Like the other largest crocodiles in the world, this species is very dangerous for humans and preys on large animals.

The next representative of large reptiles lives on the Hindustan Peninsula. It reaches 4-5 meters in length and is called a swamp crocodile. Its characteristic feature is the ability to move on land, and even over considerable distances. In this regard, the animal often attacks even livestock. On the other hand, the reptile itself sometimes becomes the food of larger predators, for example, tigers.

The largest crocodiles in the world also live on the territory of the American continent. One of their brightest representatives is Orion. Its length is about six meters. The prey most often becomes fish. Due to human extermination, this species has now become quite rare. Its population in the world currently amounts to about one and a half thousand individuals. Orion crocodiles live mainly in the rivers of Venezuela and Colombia.

The last species in the list of "largest crocodiles in the world" is the American American. The length of the reptile on average is just over five meters. It occurs mainly in South America. The prey in most cases is fish and small mammals. As for attacks on people, this happens extremely rarely and only to protect themselves and their offspring. It should be noted that the American American crocodile can adapt to salt water, therefore it is able to swim long distances even in the sea.
