Sylvester McCoy is a Scottish actor who played the seventh Doctor in the sci-fi series Doctor Who and the wizard Radagast in the film adaptation of J. Tolkien's novel The Hobbit. Biography
Sylvester was born in 1943 in the Scottish town of Dunoon. He studied at the school of St. Moon, but did not graduate from it. At the age of twelve, he entered Blair College, a seminary in Aberdeen, to study as a priest. And later, deciding to become a monk, he applied to the Dominican Order. Only they didn’t take him. It turned out that he was too young. Therefore, Sylvester entered the Danube grammar school, where, after looking at pretty classmates, he realized that he would not become a priest or a monk.
After studying, Sylvester McCoy took a vacation in London, but did not return to his homeland. He got a job in an insurance company, where he worked until the age of 27, until he met the British writer, actor and director Ken Campbell. This acquaintance became fateful for him. First, he got roles in theatrical productions, and then McCoy sometimes began to appear in films and on television.

So where did Sylvester McCoy star? The filmography of the actor began in 1973, when he appeared in one episode of the Bob Block series Roberts Robots. And after 6 years, he already got a small role in John Badham’s full-length horror film Dracula (1979).
