Anthony was born in Italy in 1911 near Naples, and eight years later sailed to the United States with his family, arriving in New York on September 11, 1919. The Mancinelli family settled in Aunt Anthony’s house in Newburgh, NY, just eight miles from New Windsor, where the master currently resides.
Anthony began cutting hair in 1921, when the price for a haircut was only 25 cents. At that time, the boy was only 10 years old.
