In the fall of 2015, a bright and unusual exposition dedicated to the structure and functioning of the human body opened in the exhibition space located at St. Petersburg, Konyushennaya Square, 2. The exhibition "Human Body" (St. Petersburg) is held for the second time. The peculiarity of this exposition is that among the exhibits you can see both the norm and pathology. In addition, the collection consists entirely of genuine fragments and whole bodies of dead people preserved using innovative embalming technology.

The concept and main ideas of the exhibition

The public reaction to the opening of the exhibition was mixed. Someone hastened to get tickets, while others reacted indignantly. The organizers acknowledge that diverse prejudices about anatomy, maintaining health, corpses, and death as a phenomenon are indeed prevalent in modern society. Many modern people are afraid of only one type of blood or faint when they see a deceased. The exhibition “Human Body” (St. Petersburg) calls for learning more about the structure and work of the human body and discarding all superstitions regarding the most natural that we have. The collection shows healthy organs and pathologically altered as a result of chronic diseases and the irresponsible attitude of their owners to their own health.

In 2015, more than 500 exhibits were put on public display. The Human Body does not have a permanent museum, and most of the time the collection is closed for inspection. For the convenience of absorbing information, the exhibition is divided into seven sectors, each of which is devoted to the structure and operation of a particular system of the human body. Separately shown are the pathologies of intrauterine development and the consequences of conscious harm to one's own health - abuse of bad habits. The anatomical exhibition "Human Body" (St. Petersburg) invites visitors to explore various exhibits. These are whole bodies, and their parts, and individual organs. Each item in the collection has a card with a detailed description.

Positive reviews

According to many visitors to the exposition, how much this tour will be liked directly depends on the guide. It is interesting to spend a couple of hours with a good attendant, listening to a lecture on the presented exhibits and interesting stories about their receipt and processing. But without a guide it’s not at all difficult to get bored and miss all the fun. The exhibition "Human Body" (St. Petersburg) really makes you think about your own health. Just knowing that smoking is harmful and looking at propaganda posters is one thing, quite another - look at the organs of a person who once lived and see how startled they look. A separate plus is the low cost of tickets. Adults will have to pay only 400 rubles for visiting the exposition; discounts are provided for children, students, and pensioners.
