Vera Filatova was born in the Donetsk town of Khartsyzsk on November 6, 1982. According to the actress, she moved to foggy Albion because her dad and mother decided that their daughter should receive a British education. In the mid-2000s, she studied at the famous London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
