Dmitry Sosnovsky is a Russian professional undefeated fighter of mixed martial arts, is a representative of the heavy weight category (up to 109 kilograms). Biography
Born on July 6, 1989 in the city of Yalta, Crimean region, USSR. Despite the fact that Dmitry was born in the Ukrainian SSR, contrary to rumors in the media that mislead the public, Sosnovsky was never a citizen of Ukraine - he spent all his childhood in the Moscow Region, served in the army in the city of Torzhok, has a passport citizen of the Russian Federation.
From an early age, Dmitry went in for sports. He visited power sports and martial arts sections. At a professional level, he was engaged in weightlifting and arm wrestling, took part in such championships as “Heroes of Russia”, “Russian Bench Press” and others.
In the biography of Dmitry Sosnovsky, an important event was his acquaintance with the popular mixed-style fighter Alexei Oleinik, who later advised the guy to start practicing MMA. He also became the first coach and mentor for Dmitry. After a couple of years of close cooperation, the fighters moved to Kharkov, where Oleynik came from, where they both joined the Oplot club community.
Professional career
In October 2012, Sosnowski made his professional debut in the ProFC mixed martial arts tournament. At the twentieth second of the first round, the debutant knocked out his opponent. In the near future, he regularly performed under the auspices of the Kharkov League Oplot Challenge, where he won six of six possible victories. For his aggressive style and pressure he received the nickname "Evil Machine".
The fight with Alexander Emelianenko
The most important event in the career of Dmitry Sosnovsky was the battle at the Colosseum tournament in January 2014. The tournament was held in St. Petersburg, Dmitry's rival was the titled Russian heavyweight fighter Alexander Emelianenko. Before the battle, experts and bookmakers predicted an almost 100 percent victory for Emelianenko. Under the psychological pressure of the public and the desire to break the legendary fighter, Dmitry Sosnovsky brought down a hail of punches on his opponent in the first round. As a result, the referee stopped the match, fixing a technical knockout, and an obvious outsider D. Sosnovsky was declared the winner.
