The Hermitage-Kazan is the name of the museum and exhibition center located in the Tatar capital.
Its creation was preceded by a certain work carried out in accordance with the cooperation program concluded between the cultural institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Hermitage.
First exhibition
It all started in 1997. The exhibition "Treasures of Khan Kubrat", showed exhibits from the Pereshchepinskogo treasure. In 1912, an invaluable treasure was discovered by a podpasky boy tripping over a golden vase 13 km from Poltava near the village of Maloe Pereshchepino. A teenager fell into a mine with funeral supplies of Khan Kubrat, who is considered the founder of Great Bulgaria. The mine was considered the burial place of the khan. And the treasures turned into priceless exhibits. They were brought from St. Petersburg to Kazan.
Great start
According to the results of the exhibition, which was held in Kazan with great success, the catalog “Treasures of Khan Kubrat” was published in Tatar, Russian and English. The first experience of cooperation between the Hermitage and the Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan, which attracted much public attention, allowed us to carry out such projects on a regular basis.
And during the period from 1997 to 2004, five large exhibitions were held, which formed a new look at the world history of culture among residents and guests of Kazan.
New center
All this made it possible to first sign an agreement of intent between the Hermitage and the ministries of culture of Tatarstan on the intention to create an object, and by the millennium of Kazan, celebrated on August 24-30, 2005, open an excellent scientific, enlightenment and cultural-educational center, called the Hermitage -Kazan. " Great support was given to the discovery by M. Sh. Shaimiev, the then president of the republic.

In the capital of Tatarstan there is the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, on the territory of which there is a beautiful old building of the former Junkers College. It was built in 1840 by the architect Pyatnitsky. Already in the Soviet years, the third floor was built on, in which the Hermitage-Kazan center was located, which thus became the structural unit of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve. On 1000 square meters of the southern half of the floor there are exhibition, lecture, information and conference rooms, as well as computer classes.

The center opened with the exhibition “Golden Horde. History and culture. ” And then an agreement was signed on further cooperation of the Hermitage-Kazan Center with the State Hermitage. It is difficult to overestimate the opening of a center equipped with modern equipment.
It is used both as a platform for various video conference calls, scientific meetings, various exhibitions and vernissages, and as a student club and press center. Here leading experts from St. Petersburg conduct a systematic Hermitage lecture hall. Thus, the Hermitage-Kazan center is fully consistent with the concept of a new exclusive information resource and museum center not only in the capital of Tatarstan, but also in the entire region.
Hermitage - a popular name for Kazan
In the capital of this republic there are several more objects whose name contains the word "Hermitage". This is the name of the garden, the hall, and the club. In the historical center of the city, in the Vakhitovsky district, there is an object called the Hermitage (Garden, Kazan), less often the Hermitage Garden. The park, spread over an area of 4 hectares and located not far from the central square of Tukay, is located between two ravines and two hills - Marusovsky and Butlerovsky.

This is an old park that has changed several names associated with its owners, surrounded by toponymic or “urban” legends. He had the glory of a "bad place" because the cruel owner of Vorozhtsov allegedly spotted his serfs and even his own son to death, and then buried the bodies without burial in the garden. Therefore, the current "Hermitage" garden (Kazan) is full of ghosts. There are many (about 500) trees in it, there are even pre-revolutionary plantings. Interestingly, many trees have a curved shape, which is rare for urban vegetation. Rumor considers this curvature a confirmation of the “bad history” that took place here. Nevertheless, this is the favorite park of the townspeople, restored to the 1000th anniversary of the capital.

And what is the Hermitage club? Kazan has recently acquired a very large number of night clubs. One of them is the Hermitage. How is he different from his brothers? Over the years of its existence (the club opened on October 20, 2006), ERMITAGE has gained a strong reputation as one of the best nightlife venues of its kind.
Now the huge Hermitage club (Kazan) for 2000 seats is not inferior in quality to the Moscow events. The large areas of the Hermitage, which include a dance floor, an amphitheater, technical equipment that meets all modern standards (including a 4x7 meter LED screen), and cozy VIP lodges, have all made the club a favorite place for citizens and guests of the capital of Tatarstan. But to a greater extent this popularity was facilitated by the fact that thanks to ERMITAGE, the performance of world-famous stars in Kazan became the norm.
