Parents are always looking for an opportunity to diversify their child’s leisure activities and on weekends they go with him to the playground, theater or entertainment center. And all the kids are happy to visit menageries, where they get acquainted with wild animals, learn a lot about their lifestyle and habits.

Unfortunately, a real zoo in Volgograd has not yet been created. The organization’s issue isn’t even on the agenda, as it is associated with certain difficulties: the city authorities must allocate a suitable place, you need to find sponsors who are willing to pay for the construction of cages and aviaries, landscaping and landscaping, and the purchase of animals. But most importantly, there is no enthusiast who is ready to do this business. Therefore, the zoo in Volgograd is the dream of its inhabitants, who take their children to the closest menagerie in Rostov-on-Don.

The joy for Volgograd residents is the arrival in their city of the state mobile zoo Safari. This menagerie on wheels has existed for more than 40 years, it is directly subordinate to the State Circus, its director is Hamlet Ashotovich Kasyan. From spring to late autumn, Safari toured those Russian cities where there are no stationary zoos yet, and it hibernates in the Caucasian Mineral Waters area: in Essentuki, Pyatigorsk or Kislovodsk. Since there are very warm winters, which is comfortable for animals.

The mobile zoo "Safari in Volgograd" is located every time in a new place, it depends on the agreement with the administration. Visitors can see many wild animals - tigers, lions, cougars, lynxes, eagles, deer, monkeys, bears and others.

In the fall of 2011, during a stay in Volgograd in Safari, lynxes were born. They were named Steve and Jobs in memory of the deceased founder of Apple. And in the summer of 2016, again in Volgograd, four lion cubs were born in a mobile zoo. It was a very joyful event! The menagerie was jokingly called the "maternity hospital on wheels."
