The average monthly salary in Russia is about 28, 000 rubles “net” (including taxes). This is the latest data for January 2016. Sadly, the figure compared with the statistics of 2015 became 6.1% less. And the average data is always calculated along with the “poor” and “rich” regions. It’s like in that joke - if the poor eat cabbage, and the wealthy eat meat, then on average everyone is content with cabbage rolls. Well, it’s worth talking now about where the poorest region of Russia is located and which regions cannot boast of high affluence.

Central and North-Western Federal Districts

Since our country is large, the topic can be considered in districts. The poorest region of Russia in the Central Federal District is Ivanovo. If you believe the data for May 2016, then the average monthly salary there is 22, 400 rubles. In April it was worse - the indicator was 20 tr. The minimum wage in the Ivanovo region is 8 645 p. With an all-Russian minimum of 7, 500 rubles. There is also the Kostroma, Oryol and Bryansk oblasts, which by the average salary level have not far gone - 22 900, 23 300 and 24 300 rubles, respectively.

In the North-West Federal District, the worst thing is to live in the Pskov Region, since there the average salary is 21, 200 rubles. It is there that the established minimum wage is equal to 7, 500. Is it possible to say that the Pskov region is the poorest in Russia? Quite. There are reasons for this. In June of this year, studies were conducted on the level of family welfare, according to which it was possible to find out that the Pskov region is the poorest in Russia. In the course of the case, it was found out the amount of “free funds” available to families of four (2 adults and 2 children). The average salary and the subsistence minimum deducted from it were taken into account. As a result, it turned out that the Pskov remained “free” 570 rubles.

South and North Caucasus Federal District

In these districts things are sad. In the Southern Federal District, the poorest of all are Kalmykia. There the average salary is 19, 700 p. The minimum standard is 7, 500 p. In Adygea, the average salary is 21, 500 p. In the other four regions of the Southern Federal District, the indicator varies from 24 to 25 tr.

Speaking about the rating of the poorest regions of Russia, one cannot forget about the North Caucasian Federal District. Since there things are also bad. Worst of all is in Dagestan, where the average salary is 19, 000 rubles. Best of all for this indicator in the Stavropol Territory, where it is 22, 800 p.

Volga and Ural Federal Districts

Of course, the poorest region of Russia is not located in these districts, but salaries are not high there either. In the Volga Federal District, Chuvashia, Mordovia and Mari El have the lowest rates, where the average salary is 20, 400 rubles. One and a half to two thousand higher levels in the Kirov, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Penza regions.

In the Ural Federal District, salaries are higher, but living conditions are worse (largely due to the climate). The lowest average salary in the Kurgan region is 21, 100 rubles. Following is the Chelyabinsk (28, 700 r), Sverdlovsk (29, 900), Tyumen (55, 200), Khanty-Mansiysk A.O. (57, 000) and Yamal-Nenets (78, 000). There, even a minimum is about 12-13 tr.
