Nikita Lobintsev is a swimmer. Born in November 1988 in Novouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region. From childhood I went in for sports. Of all the species he tried, he liked swimming the most. Future champion loved watching Russian eminent sportsmen on television and dreamed about such a career.
Beginning of a swimmer's career
It all started in his hometown, where, by the way, the young athlete is still training. The coaching staff noticed the prospect in the guy and began to actively send him to high-level competitions. Nikita from each new trip brought medals of various denominations. Successes allowed the young man to speak seriously already at the international level. Junior championships, and then immediately membership in the team - an incredible progress in Lobintsev’s career.
Olympic Games
For the first time, he joined the Russian team before the Olympic Games in Beijing (in 2008). The preparation was long and difficult. At the European Championships, along with teammates Nikita Lobintsev became the second in the relay. It became clear to the coaching staff that the young man is able to speak at the upcoming Olympic Games at the highest level and will compete for gold.
In Beijing, he won the silver medal in the relay with teammates Yevgeny Lagunov, Danila Izotov, Mikhail Polishchuk and Alexander Sukhorukov.
At the 2012 Olympics in London, the team failed to achieve the same heights - it became only the third. In the same freestyle in the relay race participated already updated by two participants composition: Andrei Grechin and Vladimir Morozov.
The scandal that erupted before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 did not pass Nikita Lobintsev as well. The Swimming Federation forbade him to go to competitions. The athlete was perfectly prepared, at the beginning of the year he won two gold medals in the framework of the World Championship, held in Canada.
Thus, at the moment, the athlete’s highest achievement is the silver of the Olympics, for which he was awarded the state award - the medal of the order “For Merit to the Fatherland”.
The swimmer is not going to stop there and plans to take part in the Olympic Games in 2020 in order to try to win the gold medal.
