Oleg Kondrashov was born in 1967 in Gorky, that is what Nizhny Novgorod was called in those days. He spent his youth in the Prioksky district of the regional center, where he lives today.
His father was from Saratov, and his mother was from the banks of the Don. Papa Oleg Kondrashova worked at a factory named Klara Zetkin, and her mother worked at a long-distance call station as a telephone operator. To date, his parents have retired.
Oleg Kondrashov graduated from high school No. 174 in 1985. Success in his studies allowed him to enter the Polytechnic Institute in Gorky without any problems. He began to study at the Faculty of Automotive Engineering.
After completing the first course, he was forced to interrupt his studies in order to serve in the army. By distribution, he fell into the air defense forces, which were based on the territory of the German Democratic Republic.
Returning from the army, he continued his studies at the institute. He graduated from it after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1992.
Doing business
While still at the institute, Kondrashov began to understand well what entrepreneurial activity was, how to earn money on your own in the changing economic conditions.
He went into business in 1989. His first project was the opening of a chain of commercial stores called Christina for the sale of food products. Soon he founded the Arena store, which was engaged in the sale of sports equipment and paraphernalia.
In 1994, he joined a group of companies called Caesar. It included several dozen sports and fashion stores in two Russian capitals. Now they have opened representative offices in Nizhny Novgorod.
Since the early 2000s, he left for the restaurant business. He began to lead the PIR group of companies, which owns about 20 restaurants in Nizhny Novgorod.
Political activity
Oleg Kondrashov, whose biography was closely connected with Nizhny Novgorod, in 2003 became a member of the United Russia party. Thus began his political and social career.
In 2005, he won the city duma elections. In the chair, the parliamentarian was part of a special commission that was in charge of property and land relations, and also worked in the commission on economics, industry, and production.
In 2010, at the next elections to the City Duma, he nominated for a single-mandate constituency. Oleg Kondrashov, whose biography is associated exclusively with one district of Nizhny Novgorod, easily won in the Prioksky district, gaining almost 60% of the vote.
His social activities were mainly associated with the support of professional and children's hockey. He led the regional federation and is currently president of the Torpedo hockey club, which plays in the Continental Hockey League.
In 2012, he opened a charity foundation, which began to specialize in helping large families.
Work in the administration of Nizhny Novgorod
In 2010, deputy Kondrashov was approved as head of the administration of Nizhny Novgorod. After that, he resigned from his parliamentary powers and left the Nizhny Novgorod sales company, in which he was the general director.
