Love at first sight
The fateful meeting took place in 1974 in Paradise Valley, Montana, where Jeff was busy filming the movie "Deluxe Ranch", and Susan worked as a waitress and was not part of the crew.
Bridges recalls: “We set the stage with Sam Waterston and Harry Dean Stanton when I saw her. I did not know who she was, a maid or a waitress, but I could not take my eyes off her.”
“It was a gorgeous girl with black eyes and a broken nose. This contrast of flaw and beauty on one face could not get out of my head, ” the actor continues.
After closely monitoring the girl, which Jeff unsuccessfully tried to disguise as a magazine, the actor gathered courage to go up to Susan and invite her on a date. Surprisingly, the girl refused. "This is serious?" - Jeff was amazed, but decided that this city is too small, and they will definitely meet again.
And so it happened. The next time the two clashed at a party, Bridges invited Susan to dance and she agreed. The flame of love flared up between them that evening. Jeff and Susan danced together all night and never parted.

In 1977, lovers got married. The couple has three beautiful daughters: Isabelle Annie, Lily Jessica and Haley Roselise, as well as the growing granddaughter of Grace.
10 years after the wedding, the actor received a letter with two photographs depicting the first conversation of the future couple in a cafe and the moment Susan refused. Jeff's eyes light up when he recalls how his love came about at first sight. "I carry them in my pocket, this is my precious property, " says Bridges.
