The formula of slush is simple: a certain liquid (most often rain or wet snow) plus soil. The mud formula is almost the same, with the exception of one important point. It can be dried at the appropriate temperature. But slush is an exclusively liquid substance and a vivid sign of certainly damp weather.

This can be called the weather. Examples of use:
- “Slush on the road is unplanned” (M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin).
- In slush it is better to put on rubber boots.
In a figurative sense, the word "slush" means something despicable and miserable, a real insignificance. For example, in the following expressions: “In vain to cry - only to breed slush”; “Local society is such a right word, slush!”

In verses and songs - also slush
Like any other natural phenomenon, so unattractive, it would seem, a sign of the off-season is praised by the lyrics.
The classic lines of the ingenious Boris Pasternak about “rumbling slush” that “burns in spring black” is a highly artistic description of February in Russian poetry.
“And you must - what a slush!” - exclaims in the "Road in the rain" the Nobel nominee Evgeny Yevtushenko.
The idol of fans of the author’s song, Vladimir Vysotsky, telling “About the royal procession” throws the crowd “prostrate, in slush and mud …”
“Slush is for you, ” the contemporary singer Dima Vasiliev calls out, “but it's raining.”
But not only pop singers tend to breed it. Aggressive rapper Ernesto Shut up drops “thought sets into human slush”. And so on and so forth.
But no matter how much the servant of the pen poeticizes this natural phenomenon, traffic police inspectors invariably warn: slush is dangerous!
